1702, Mar. 23. He and wife Abigail, sold Thomas Durfee, Jr., of Portsmouth, 11 acres for £50, said land having been purchased of brother Ishmael.
1730. Mar. A suit was brought against him by the children of his brother Robert, to recover certain lands in North King-town. The land had been lett by grandfather of plaintiff Robert Spink (who they say died about toso), to eldest son Robert, father of plaintiffs, said father dying about ! 1700, and leaving one sou Robert, who lied unmarried about 1729. In answer to this suit, Nicholas : showed a deed from his nephew Robert, dated 1924. Apr. 17, duly witnessed. The deportion of James Bravnor, declared that while a sailor on his Majesty's ship belonging to deet in the Baltic Sea i he saw Robert Spink, of North Kingstown, carpenter of his Majesty's ship Revenge, then alive and | well, and that was three years ago come July. The plaintufs in this suit were : Samuel Tarvox of East Greenwich, and wife Margaret, Thomas Jacques and wite Hannah, Alexander Huling aud wite Elizabeth, of North Kingstown, and John Fry and wife Abigail, of Newport.

They were to maintain his horse i also, and pay him 99, a year, and £25, to such ! persons as he directed at bis decease.

1722, Feb. 23 He wrote a long letter to three prominent Presbyterian ministers in Missachu- setts (viz : Jolin Danforth, Peter Thatcher and Joseph Belcher), in answer to one they havij addressed to him and other citizens converuing i the establishment of a church in Provalence. ; Mr. Sprague and his fellow Baptists. failed to | see the necessity of a Pre-byteri.ur establishment however, and in his letter he gave his views in very vigorous and unmistakable terms.
Ho preached as an exhorter, but was not ordained (as Morgan Edwards deciares in his account of the Baptists).
