1717. Jun. 17. The - Boston News Letter" of this date thus notices his widow's death. " Little ! Compton, 31 May. This morning died here Mrs. Elizth Payhaly late wite of Mr. William Paybody in the Old year of herage. She was daughter of John Alden, Esq. ard Priscilla his ! wife, daughter of Mr. Wm. Mullins. This John Alden and Priscilla Mullins were married at Plymouth in New England, where their daughter Elizabeth was born. she was exemplary. virtuous and pious, and her memory is bussed. Her granddaughter Bradford is a grandmother." He and his wile were buried in the Little Compton Cemetery.

1671. Apr. 23. He was granted a license for a public ordinary or vietualing house. for enter- tainment of strangers or others, giving bonds for good order, &c.


1671, May 17. He, as General Constable, was orderel to bring James Babcock, Constable of Westerly, before the court for not warning the Inhabitants of Westerly to appear at a meeting. 1672. Feb. 27. The arbitrators, viz: John Easton and James Barker, made the following report as to a quarrel between him and Stephen Sabeere : " We do award that Stephen Sabeere shall acknowledge unto Henry Palmer that he hath | done wrong unto him and his wife in saving that his wife is a witch, and would prove her so. We do awart that Henry Palmer shall acknowledge unto Stephen Subeere, that he hath done him wrong in calling of bim, the said Stephen, ' French dog, French rogue.'"

It is assumed that Joseph and Benjamin wer- his sons, and possibly William Palmer (of Kings Town in 1697), should be ad led to the list. No relationship has been found to exist between him and Georg" Palmer, who was of Warwick in 1655.
