1684, Jun. 10. He and three others gave their depositions concerning the sale of lands at Bos- ton by William Blackstone. He calls himself aged about seventy-six years, and the declara- tion of himself and companions was, that they were " ancient dwellers and inhabitants of the Town of Boston in New England from the titne of the first planting and settling thereof and continuing so at this day."


From the language used, it would seem probable that he spent bis later years at Boston, rather than Newport.

To son-in-law Thomas Stendman and my daughter Hannah his wife, for life, use of land which son-in-law improves. and at his death to grandson Enoch Steadman. The personal estate to be sold and put at interest, and gaid interest with rent of certain land to be for grandchildren who have no land.
