He, with others of Warwick, was notified to appear at General Court at Boston, to hear complaint of two Indian sachenis, Ponham and Socconecco, as to "svine unjust and injurious dealing toward mem by yourselves " The Warwik men declined to by the summons> declari.it that they were leg il sulfa', of the King of Eight and beyou i the limits of Massachusetts territory. to whom they won! i acknowledge no subjection. Soldiers were soon sont who besieged the settlers in a fortified house. In a parley it was now wild "that they beki blasphemous errors which they must repent of," or go to Boston for trial, and they were soon carried thence


1643 Nov. 3. He was brought with others before the court, charged with heresy and sedition, and they were sentenced to be contined during the pleasure of the court, and should they break fiil or preach their heresies or speak against church of state, on conviction they should die. He was sent to prison at Ipswich, and not release.i till the following March, being theu banished from both Massachusetts and Warwick.
