1711, May 29. Westerly. He sold for £200, to his son Nicholas 286 acres on Pawcatuck river.


1729, May 5. Will-proved 1722, Aug. 17. Exs. Peter Crandall, John Maxson and John Richmond. To wife Elizabeth, a bed, small iron kettle, two smail iron pots, three pewter platters, two cows and £10, per year : ail in lieu of dower. To "my brethren the First ; Day Baptists at Groton or belonging to that meeting, £20, for the use of that meeting." To daughter-in-law Eleanor Randall, wife of Matthew, £10. To well beloved friend John Richmond, £3. To oldest son Jabez Utter, 1 one-seveall of rest of estate both real and | personal. To second son Thomas, two-sevenths. To sons Nicholas and William and daughter Millicent Yeomans, one-seventh, each. To children of daughter Samb Forman, the other seventh. The double share to son Thomas was given because of his care in looking after his father in his old age.


He desired that his daughter Millicent would give her share to one of her children as she might choose.

Baptist Church. The reasons therefor arr f thus stated. " Said persons conceived a preju- dice against panimenty and against the restraints that the litarty of prophesving was laid under and also against the doctrine of particular re- demption, and against the site of laying on of bands as a matter of indifference."


1656, Jan. 18. His wife entered into an agree- ment with her son Walter Clarke, through his guardians John Cranston and James Barker. 1 Her son was to have dwelling house where j. Mrs. Vaughan hyrd, garden, orchard, se .. which was his inheritance, but possession to be had by his mother till September 29th or till tobacco was cured. The house where Captain John Cranston lived was to be his, as appeared by deed. Mrs Vaughan was to pay all debts. and for that purpose had half of a house which she was to sell, and she also had certain land, the household goods, Sc., for herself and the rest of the children of Jeremiah Clarke, other than Walter.
