Resolved, That Richard Dellam, Esq'r, Paymaster of the Flying Camp, be requested to pay the accounts of Subsistence of the Com- panies of the Flying Camp, before their march, at the rate of ten Shillings + week, and a Dollar $ man for enlisting, and to keep a seperate account of all such, that this board may be enabled hereafter to settle the same with Congress.


Mr. Towers, the Commissary of Stores, was directed to deliver to Capt. James Crouch of the 4th Batt'n of Lancaster County Mili- tia, the following Articles, to be charged to Major C. Cox of s'd Batt'n :

Resolved, That the Committee for taking care of the Sick Sol- diers who have arrived in this City be, and they are hereby antho- rized and fully empowered to take into their Possession all the Arms of the aforesaid sick, also all the Arms of those who have died in this City ; all persons who shall be found secreting any Arms of the Soldiers aforesaid, or of those who have died in their Houses, will be severely dealt with by this Board.

WHEREAS several of the Militia, after receiving advance Pay, and drawing Rations, have basely deserted their Officers, and re- turned home, without rendering their Country the least Service, but on the Contrary, their ill example will probably produce the most fatal consequences in the Army, unless such delinquents are speed- ily punished ; Therefore,


Resolved, 'That the six weeks for which the militia of the State are now called forth to serve in defence of their Country, are to Commence at and shall be accountable from the time they arrive at Head Quarters; And that such of the Militia as leave their Officers before their time of service is expired, unless they are regularly discharged, shall be advertised as Deserters, and carried back to the army, there to remain until properly discharged by the Command- ing Officer, and this Board will defray all reasonable expences that may attend securing such Deserters.


An order was drawn on Mr. Nesbitt, in favour of Wm. Lyon, Esq'r, for 1400 Dollars, he to be accountable.

May had drawn pay for his Co. & p'd them in full, notwithstanding his Co. had quitted the service without complying w'th the terms on w'h they had rec'd a Bounty f'm this State, w'h charges the s'd Geo. May, &c, have severally confessed, protesting their Ignorance of their Duty.


Resolved, That the s'd Capt. May refund the sum of twenty shillings for each of his Men, as a third part of the Bounty Money they had rec'd ; and that the said Geo. May, and A. May, &c, pay the expences that have accrued in bringing them before this Board, and be dissmissed, on being reprimanded for their conduct.


Resolved, That Sam'l Morris, Joseph Blewer, and And'w Cald- well, be a Committee to Visit the State Prisoners in the New Jail, enquire & understand the cause of their Commitment, how long they have been confined, & to release such as in their discretion they shall judge ought to be released.

Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay Jos. Finaver £18 3 4, for Tin Strops delivered into the Elaboratory. Also, £30 18 9, for Tin Tubes, &ca., delivered to Maj'r Loxley, to be charged to Congress.


Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay Lewis Grant &7 15 0, for Gun Ladles for the Fort.


An order was sent to Hayman Levy, to make up an assortment of articles fit for a Treaty with 70 Indians, (exclusive of women & children,) he accordingly pack'd up the following Goods, for which a receipt was given by the Secretary :- 9,600 White Wampum,

20,500 Black Wampum, 30 Moons & 30 Hair Pipes of Conk Shell, 6 Pair arm Bands, 12 Gordiots, 100 Broaches, 37 Pair Ear Bobs, all of Silver, which w'th 15 Camp Kettles, were this day forwarded to Cols. Bull & Dean, Commissioners on the part of this Council, at Easton.


An order was drawn on Mr. Nesbitt, in favour of David Jackson, for 2,500 Dollars, for the payment of the 2nd Batt'n of Phil'a Militia.


Resolved, That the Officers of the Troops raised in this State for the Continental service, who are now prisoners with the Enemy, shall retain their rank according to their several Commissions, and be entitled to pay and Rations the same as if they were in actual service, and when exchanged, to be provided for.


Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay Tho's Burrees £1 0 0, for hawl- ing plank, &ca., to penawkin Creek Bridge, to be charged to Congress,

Capt. Geo. Bickham to pay Capt. Stephen Balliet £4 2 2, being so much not carried out in acco't for expences apprehending disaf- fected persons in Northampton County, to be charged to Wm, Thomas, Philip Moses & others.


Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay Arthur Donaldson £32 3 11}. for Expences attending the raising Chevaux de Frize.


Capt. Bickham was directed to pay Thomas Adams £6, for at- tendance on the Council and making out a Duplicate for South Ward, to be charged to Congress.


Capt. Bickham was directed to pay John White 15s for a Blan- ket, Dav'd Montgomery £3 15, and John Bray £1 12 6, for 4 Blankets.


Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay Wheeler and Wiley £77 1 6, for Iron work done the Piers on Fort Island.


Capt. Bickham was directed to pay Capt. Geo. Matthews £2 17 0, for subsistence of his Company, of Col. Ja's Armstrong's Batt'n of Cumberland Co. Militia.
