They resided in Rowley until 26 Mar., 1726, when he sold a dwelling-house and about 32 acres of land, partly in Ipswich and partly in Rowley (Essex Deeds, 45: 251). They were soon of Portsmouth, N. H., then, about 1729, of Scarboro', Me., where he bought a farm of 72 acres (York Deeds, 13: 52), and where he died, and was buried 16 May, 1749 (Scarboro' Sec. Ch. R.). His widow, Elizabeth, was "buried 30 Aug., 1772, aged almost 90" (Scarboro' Sec. Ch. R.).

His will, dated 29 Nov., 1748, mentions himself as of Ipswich; wife, Sarah; sons Samuel, David, eldest son, Daniel, to have the homestead in Ipswich; son-in-law Jacob Perkins; daughter Mary Perkins; grand- daughters Mary and Mehitable Perkins; grandson Benjamin Safford (Essex Probate, 331 : 62). Administration on her estate was granted, 8 Aug., 1757, to her son, Moses Ordway, of Newton, N. H., (Essex Probate, 334: 493).

58-21. JOSEPH3 DRESSER (Samuel 58-3; John 58), born 14 Mar., 1679-80; married 12 Mar., 1705-6, Elizabeth, daughter of Isaac Kil- bourne (106-5). She died 18 Sept., 1711. He married (2) 6 Aug., 1712, Johanna, daughter of Nathaniel Barker (13-4). He was in the military service under Capt. John Cutler, at Wells, from 23 Mar. to 7 Apr., 1702-3 (Province Laws, 8: 599).
He "dyed from home 26 Mar., 1718" (Ch. R.). Administration granted to his widow, Johanna, 1 Oct., 1718 (Essex Probate, 312 : 411). The estate was divided 3 Nov., 1730; widow Johanna and chil- dren Jeremiah, Jane, Hannah, Amos, Abel, and Elizabeth, each receiv- ing a portion (Essex Probate, 316 : 195).
She died 14 Oct., 1747. Her will, dated 5 Sept., 1747, mentions brother, James Barker, sister, Mary Scott, sister Mercy Gage, and eldest child (unnamed) of son, Abel Dresser. "Eliphalet Kilborn physician," executor (Essex Probate, 328: 140).

58-52. DANIEL4 DRESSER (Sergt. Samuel 58-18; Samuel 58-3; John 58), born 14 Mar., 1702-3; married in Bradford, 9 Apr., 1730, Mary, daughter of John and Martha (Worcester) Pemberton of Brad- ford. She was born in Bradford, 25 Nov., 1711, and died 26 Feb., 1762. He married (2) 2 Dec., 1762, Elizabeth, daughter of James Barker (13-28). He was a member of Rowley Church, admitted 28 Apr., 1729. His home was in Ipswich Village, very near the boundary of Rowley, where he died 1 June, 1789 (Rowley R.).
His will, dated 9 Dec., 1788, mentions himself as of Ipswich; wife, Elizabeth, to improve all the estate; son, Daniel Dresser; daughters Mary Pickard, Rebecca Palmer, Hannah Bailey, Lydia Pingree and Mehitable Pickard; six children of son John Dresser, dec'd; John, Abigail, Mary, Daniel, Nathan and Ann Dresser; grandson John Pem- berton Palmer to have one-half reversion of the estate and to be execu- tor (Essex Probate, 360: 197-8).
His widow, Elizabeth, died 12 Apr., 1792. Her will, dated 22 Mar., 1792, mentions herself as of Ipswich; cousin Nathaniel Barker of Row- ley; Daniel Dresser of Ipswich, "my well beloved friend & grandson of my late husband," to have all land in Ipswich and Rowley, and to be executor; daughters-in-law Mehitable Pickard, Elizabeth ( ?) Bailey and Lydia Pingree (Essex Probate, 362 : 68).

His home in Rowley was on . the west side of Main Street, next to Ipswich line, now (1932) owned by Albert A. Hicken. He died before 18 Apr., 1788. His sons, Joseph Dresser of Rowley and Amos Dresser of Lunenburg, by deed, dated 18 Apr., 1788, divide all the real estate of David Dresser, deceased, situate in Rowley, except the use of dower to widow of said David (Essex Deeds, 147: 167). His widow, Mary, died 28 Sept., 1800.
