He married (2) 18 June, 1761, Jane, widow of John Harriman (78-15). He died 2 Jan., 1784. He was sergeant in a company serving at Lake George, 1755.
By deed, dated 26 Jan., 1738, "Isreal Hazzen of Boxford" conveys to his brother John, of Rowley. "one half of the house and barn in Boxford where my Father Edward Hazzen and I now dwell and seven- teen acres in Rowley." By deed, dated 16 Feb., 1761, "Isreal Hazen of Rowley, wheelwright," conveys to his son, "Jacob Hazen of Rowley," half of his land in Rowley with half the buildings thereon, also half his land in Boxford.
The Hazen farm was in Rowley and Boxford, the boundary line be- tween the towns dividing it at one time nearly in halves. I suppose that "Father Edward," Israel and his son Jacob lived upon this farm, whether the house occupied was in Boxford or Rowley. This farm was, in 1875. when I visited it, woodland and pasture only; the two old cellars thereon were pointed out to me by Mr. David Eri Perley (G. B. B.). His widow, Jane, died 8 July, 1803, aged 97 years.

87. ANDREW1 HIDDEN was of Rowley as early as 31: 3 mo. 1649, when he was in court for striking "another man's servant" (Essex Ct. Files). He was about 40 years old, 1662 (Ct. R.) ; married 7: 4 mo. 1654, Sarah Houstin (E. I. H. C. Vol. 6, p. 37). His homestead, in 1666, was on the easterly corner of Pleasant and Main Street (Essex Deeds, 4 Ips .: 44). He died 18 Feb. (20 Feb., Ch. R.), 1702. His will, dated 18 Feb., 1701-2, mentions wife, Sarah, and son Ebenezer ; other children are implied but not named (Essex Probate, 307: 418). His widow, Sarah, died 19 Oct., 1729, "aged about 103" (Ch. R.).

The will of Ephraim Nelson (130-25), 23 May, 1761, mentions as grandchildren, Ephraim Hidden, Price Hidden and Sarah Wells, late Hidden, children of daughter, Mehitable, deceased, late wife of Eben Hidden (Essex Probate, 338 : 193).

87-26. JAMES3 HIDDEN (Ebenczer 87-12; Andrew 87), born 2 June, 1718, married 26 Sept., 1748, Jemima Moody of Newbury.
20 Aug., 1749, he was accused before the church of having said that part of a sermon by Rev. Moses Hale was false; the church voted his conduct disorderly ; he was forgiven, 25 Oct., 1750. 13 Feb., 1750-1, he was again in disgrace for saying the church did not use him right in the former case; he was admonished; he confessed his sins and was restored, 29 Apr., 1756. 15 Jan., 1765, the Presbyterian Church in Newburyport complains of him to the Rowley Church because of his "dangerous opinions," and a letter was sent to him (Rowley Ch. R.). .
He was living in Ipswich. 6 June, 1753. He moved to Newbury about 1760. The widow of James Hidden died 15 May, 1803 (New- buryport R.). See Dr. William Bennet (16-7).

HOBSON
89. WILLIAM1 HOBSON, son of Henry, and from Yorkshire, Eng. (Hist. Gen. Reg. 11: 237), married 12: 9 mo. 1652, Ann, daughter of Elder Humphrey Reyner (156). He bought the four-acre house lot laid out to Capt. Sebastian Brigham (27). He was buried 17 July, 1659. She died 22 Dec .. 1693.
In a division of real estate of William and Ann Hobson, mention is made as follows : William Hobson as only surviving child; Mr. Thomas Gage, "who married the Relict of Humphrey Hobson Dec'd; Philip Nelson, who married the Relict of John Hobson deceased," said Gage his wife being guardian for her son Humphrey Hobson, and said Nelson being guardian for John Hobson. William is to have the east of said pasture and John to have the west of said pasture lying between the line and field called "Murley field," dated 14 Sept., 1698 (Essex Pro- bate File, 13455).
