42. ISAAC2 COLBY, son of Anthony,1 was born in Salisbury, 6: 5 mo. (July), 1640 ; married Martha, daughter of Dea. Francis Parrat (136). They lived in Haverhill and probably elsewhere until 1677 when they removed to Rowley. She was admitted to Rowley Church 2 Feb., 1678. His house in Rowley was on the site now (1932) occu- pied by the house of William A. Foss. The house lot was the original lot laid out to Francis Parrat (136).
His will, dated 29 Mar., 1684, proved 15 Apr., 1684, mentions him- self as of Rowley; wife, Martha, brother, Samuel Colby; eldest son, Anthony Colby ; other children, not named (Essex Probate, 304-78).
The return of the division of his real estate in Rowley, Salisbury, Amesbury and Haverhill, was made 7 May, 1728, showing children as below (Essex Probate, 316: 58-64). His widow, Martha, died in Amesbury, 13 July, 1730 (Hoyt).

44. TOBIA2 COLMAN, son of Thomas1 and Susannah Colman of Newbury, was born in Newbury, 1638 (Savage). He was chosen a "warner of town meetings" in Rowley, 16 Dec., 1653. He married 16 Apr., 1668, Lydia, daughter of Nicholas Jackson (98), and removed to Newbury about 1673.
In a deed, dated 17 Dec., 1696, he calls himself "ye son of Thomas Coleman of ye said Newbury deceased & am alsoe administrator to ye estate of my said father" (Essex Deeds, 11 : 215).

46. ISAAC1 COUSSINS, "smith," with his wife, Elizabeth, was in Rowley about 1644, when he bought the dwelling-house, blacksmith's shop, and rights of Edmund Bridges (26). By deed, dated 3: 1 mo. 1652, he and his wife, Elizabeth, convey to John Pickard, "carpenter," his house and lot, barn and shop, "the same that were sometime good- man Bridges," also one and half acre of land "joyning" on west side of the house lot, also a planting lot in "Murlee field" on the south side of said John Pickard's land (Essex Deeds, 1 Ips .: 108, 317).
He received, 7 June 1652, a grant of eight and one-third acres of plow land from the town of Haverhill and became their town black- smith. He may have left Haverhill before July, 1653 (Hist. of Haver- hill).

Mighill then moved to Ipswich, and there married (2) 6 Apr., 1660, Mary, daughter of Mark Quilter of Ipswich, where she was born 2 May, 1641. He died in Ipswich, Apr., 1670. His widow, Mary, married (2) Joseph Horsley (93).

47-4. JONATHAN3 CRESSEY (Mighill 47; Mighill of Ipswich ), born 11 May, 1695; married 28 Mar., 1722, Sarah, daughter of Deacon Timothy Harris (79-7). She died 28 July, 1723. He married (2) in Kittery, Me., 25 Oct., 1724, Eleanor, daughter of Henry and Sarah (Crocket) Barter of Kittery.
In 1726 he moved to Littleton, having bought, with John Sawyer (164-9), of Jonathan Prescott of Concord, 200 acres of land in Little- ton, for £600. He moved to Groton, 1744, where he was living, 1752. Children :

They moved to Littleton, 1751, where he bought, 5 July, 1751, a farm of Nathaniel Boynton (Middlesex Deeds, 50: 656).
His wife, Hephzibah, died 1768. He married (2) 5 Nov., 1771, Ruth Warren of Littleton. She died before 5 Jan., 1779. His will was dated 8 Nov., 1776; filed in Middlesex Probate Office, 10 Dec., 1776; disallowed 17 Apr., 1781.

48. WILLIAM2 CRESSEY, son of Mighill1 of Ipswich, was born in Ipswich, 1663; moved to Rowley with his mother, 1671; married 23 Jan., 1686-7 (1685-6 Ct. R.), Anne, daughter of Andrew Hidden (87). He died 9 Feb., 1717-8 (G. S.). She died 24 June, 1748. Administra- tion granted 18 Mar., 1717-8, to his son John (Essex Probate, 312: 227). See note under Mighill Cressey (47).

Administration granted 5 Oct., 1741, to his widow, Sarah (Essex Probate, 323: 78). She married (2) John Platts (147-11).

His widow, Hannah, died 4 May, 1773.

His home was the homestead of his father, on Bradford Street; Rev. soldier, rank of Lieut. He died 4 May, 1816. His widow, Elizabeth, died 28 Feb., 1838, aged 80 years.
