He married (2) 24 Oct., 1677, Elizabeth, widow of Dea. Richard Wells of Salisbury and daughter of Thomas Rowlandson of Ipswich and Lancaster (Savage). She was buried 29 Dec., 1679. The probate of her will, "made in her widow- hood," was consented to by John Harris, 28 June, 1680 (Essex Pro- bate). He married (3) Alice She may have been a daughter of James Mattock of Boston, and this her fourth marriage (Suffolk Deeds, 22 :79).

His widow, Phebe, died 15 or 16 Oct., 1732.

Thomas Harris of Ipswich, "seaman," and Martha, his wife, by deed acknowledged 22: 12 mo. 1654, confirm the sale of 1644 to Holmes and Bailey of all estate in Rowley (Essex Deeds, 1 Ips. : 152). He died in Ipswich, 2 Aug., 1687. His will was dated 16 July, 1687 (Essex Probate). His descendants now (1932) reside in Ipswich. See note under Daniel Harris (82).

82. DANIEL1 HARRIS,* "wheelwright," was not of the first com- pany, but an early settler. He brought with him his wife, Mary, daughter of Joseph Weld of Roxbury. He sold his property in Rowley, 1652, and moved to Middletown, Conn .; dismissed from Rowley Church to Middletown, 18 May, 1669. He was brother of William (81).

83. ROBERT1 HASELTINE, brother of John (84), was from Bidde- ford, County of Devon, England; freeman, 13 May, 1640; had a two- acre house lot, 1643. He married, 23: 10 mo. 1639, Anna - (the first couple married in Rowley). She died in Bradford, 26 July, 1684: He moved, in 1649, to that part of Rowley then called "Merrimack," later Bradford, and was one of the first three settlers there.t He died in Bradford, 27 Aug., 1674. His will, dated 25 Oct., 1673, mentions wife, Anna; sons David, Abraham, Robert and Gershom; daughters Anna, Deliverance and Mercy ; and grandchild Anna Kimball, daughter of Caleb Kimball ( Essex Probate).

* John (79), Thomas (80), William (81), and Daniel (82), are mentioned by Wyman as sons of Thomas Harris of Charlestown. Some of them are mentioned in the will of their brother Anthony Harris, 1652 (Middlesex Probate). Dea. William Stitson (Stilson, Stetson) of Charlestown, in his will, dated 12 Apr., 1688, proved 21 Nov., 1692, mentions John, Thomas, William and Daniel Harris and Anna, wife of Elias Maverick as children of his first wife, Elizabeth Harris (Mid- dlesex Probate). Elizabeth, the wife of Dea. William Stitson, died in Charles- town, 16 Feb., 1670 (Savage). We leave to the family genealogist the determi- nation of the kinship by blood or marriage of any or all the above named Harris family or their relation to Thomas Williams or Richard Hills, both of Charlestown, or Richard Stackhouse of Salem and Beverly, whose estate was administered, 1704, by his eldest daughter, Hannah Harris of Boston.

daughter of Dea. Maximilian Jewett (100). His home was in Brad- ford, where he was town clerk for many years. He was Captain of the Military Company and was in service with his company under Col. Peirce, 10 Apr., 1704 (Province Laws, Vol. 8: 530). David Hasel- tine's wife (unnamed) was dismissed, 14 Mar., 1675, from the Rowley Church to the church in Haverhill. He died 31 Aug., 1717.

84. JOHN1 HASELTINE, brother of Robert (83), was probably younger, as his name follows that of Robert in deeds to and from them ; freeman 13 May, 1640; had a two-acre house lot, 1643, which he sold 30: 2 mo. 1656, to Thomas Crosby (49) (Essex Deeds, 2 Ips. : 230). He moved in 1649 to "Merrimack," afterward Bradford, thence, about 1660, to Haverhill, where he died 23 Dec., 1690, aged about 70 years. His wife was Jane or Joan who died, "aged," 17 July, 1698. She was Joan Anter, servant to Mr. Holman of Biddeford, County of Devon, and member of the Boston Church, 1643 (Savage). His will, dated 17 Aug., 1689, mentions wife, Jane, and children as given below (Essex Probate, 304: 327). See note under Robert Haseltine (83).
