102. ABRAHAM1 JEWETT,* "tanner," married 2: 2 mo. 1661, Ann, daughter of Bozoan Allen (3). She was then living in Rowley with her mother who had married Joseph Jewett (101). Abraham was about 54 years old, 2 July, 1691 (Essex Deeds, 9 : 21, also 5 Ips. : 87). His home in Rowley was the "parcell of ground" of three and one-half acres, bounded east on a highway leading to Ipswich, south on land of John Dresser, west on land of John Mighill, north on common land of the town of Rowley, purchased for sixteen pounds, of Mr. Joseph Jewett who "departinge this life, not havinge given the saide Abraham Jewett any legall assurance there of, wee Philip Nellson and Jeremiah Jewett Exequitors unto the aforesaide Mr Joseph Jewett" confirm said sale; unrecorded deed in possession of Amos E. Jewett, dated 3: 1: 1661-2. This land, then having buildings thereon, was sold, 8 Apr., 1737, by his grandchild, Anne Swett, to David Dresser, and the larger part of it is now (1932) owned and occupied by Albert A. Hicken.
The inventory of his estate was taken 30 Apr., 1694, by Ezekiel Jewett, Joseph Jewett, and Nehemiah Jewett. His widow, Ann, was administratrix. She died 9 Feb., 1721-2.

Swett, Abraham Swett, and Ruth Swett (Essex Probate, 334 : 376). She was published in Rowley, 31 Oct., 1707, to Matthew Scales (166-7), but they were not married.
102-6. ABRAHAM2 JEWETT (Abraham 102), born 22 Nov., 1674; married in Topsfield, 5 Jan., 1702-3, Sarah Dorman of Topsfield; resi- dence Rowley; died 2 Nov., 1722. His will, dated 18 Oct., 1718, proved 5 Mar., 1722-3, mentions wife, Sarah, and children (unnamed)
* To me, Abraham (102) and John (103) are mysteries. They first appear "the same moneth and day," when each takes a wife. In no record can I find mention of relationship between them or to Joseph (101), though all three seem in some manner connected. According to affidavits of record in Salem, Abraham (102), John (103), and Jeremiah (101-1) were born the same year, 1637 (G. B. B.).
It is quite probable they were nephews of Maximilian (100) and Joseph (101) and sons of William, born 1605. Sec note under Maximilian Jewett (100). (A. E. J.)
