WILLIAM1 TENNEY, brother of Thomas (195), had an acre and half house lot in the second division, lying between the lots of Mark Prime on the north and Thomas Miller on the south, with the east end on the street. He was ordained deacon of Rowley Church, 3 Feb., 1667-8. His wife was Katherine -. He died 5 Aug., 1685

(see inventory). His will, dated 3 Aug., 1685, mentions wife (un- named) ; four daughters, Elizabeth, Mary, Ruth as married, Sarah as unmarried; nephew Samuel Tenney to have £20 if he "stay with his aunt till he arrives at the age of 21 years" (Essex Probate).
10 May, 1698, Widow Katherine Tenney, then of Bradford, sold to James Bailey and Samuel Prime, the house lot in Rowley, where her late husband formerly dwelt, of about one and half acre, bounded "on ye East end on ye Town Street, on ye North side on land of ye said Prime, on ye West on ye brooke that runs through ye town and on ye South on land of Mr Woodman" (Essex Deeds, 12: 118). Widow Katherine died in Bradford, 31 Oct., 1700.

THORLEY THURLOW THURLO
198. RICHARD1 THORLEY had a two-acre house lot, 1643. He sold his estate in Rowley, in 1651, to Capt. John Johnson (105), and moved to Newbury with his wife, Jane.
His home in Newbury was on the north side of Parker River, near the present site of Dummer Academy. By deed, dated 1 Dec., 1651, Mathew Chaffey* of Boston, shipwright, and, Sarah, his wife, convey to Richard Thorley, for £155, a farm in Newbury, containing 400 acres. bounded from the mouth of Cart Creek and extending thence easterly ten score rods and abutting on the river to the south, thence on a line north and by west sixteen score rods up into the country unto two birchen trees, marked, standing upon a bank of rocks, thence on a straight line westerly ten score rods to a tree standing upon a mount or hill, thence by a straight line east by south to the mouth of said creek again (Essex Deeds, 1 Ips .: 100).
