To either of the Constables of the Town of Medfield, in said County, greeting:
In the name of the Commonwealth you are directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Medfield, qualified to vote in elections and in town affairs, to meet at the Dale Street School in said Medfield on Monday the twenty-second day of June A.D. 1964 at 7:30 P.M. then and there to act on the following articles:
Article 1. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise, ap- propriate, transfer from unexpended balances or available funds in the Town Treasury for the purchase of preliminary plans for an upper elementary school to be constructed on land off Pound Street, or do or act anything in relation thereto.

Article 2. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate a sum of money for the purpose of constructing and originally equipping and furnishing an upper elementary school on land off Pound Street, and to determine whether the funds therefor shall be provided for by an appropriation under the provisions and authority of Chapter 44 of the General Laws and/or borrowing under the provisions and authority of Chapter 645 of the Acts of 1948 a's amended, or do or act anything in relation thereto.

Article 3. To see if the Town will vote to appoint a School Building Commitee and to authorize it to construct, furnish and equip an upper elementary school on land off Pound Street, to enter into contracts for the construction of the same, to employ architects in connection therewith, to

To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to acquire by purchase, taking by eminent domain or other- wise, in behalf of the Town for school purposes, title in fee simple to the land with the buildings thereon belonging to Blanche M. Kingsbury and bounded and described as follows:
NORTHWESTERLY by Pound Street;
NORTHEASTERLY by the parcel marked "A" on a certain plan re- corded with Norfolk Deeds as Plan No. 1291 of 1957 in Plan Book 204, said parcel "A" being land of the Town of Medfield;
SOUTHEASTERLY by the parcel marked "B" on said plan, said parcel "B" being land of the Town of Medfield;
SOUTHWESTERLY by land now or formerly of Henry C. Bridge and Mary E. Bridge;
SOUTHEASTERLY by said land now or formerly of Henry C. Bridge and Mary E. Bridge; and again
SOUTHWESTERLY by South Street.
and to see what sums the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or borrow or transfer from available funds in the Town Treasury or from unexpended balances to defray the cost of acquisition of said premises and the legal expenses involved connected therewith, or do or act any- thing in relation thereto.

By virtue of this warrant I have notified and warned the inhabitants of the Town of Medfield, qualified to vote in elections to meet at the time and for the purpose named by posting attested copies of said warrant in not less than five public places in the Town at least seven days before the time of holding the meeting.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING
June 22, 1964
Pursuant to the foregoing warrant the meeting was called to order by the Moderator at 7:30 P.M. and the voters present were acquainted with the contents of the warrant by receiving printed copies of same. The warrant notice and Constables' Return was read and then the following action was taken on the articles in said warrant:
Article 1. Voted that this article be dismissed wherein a sum of money was asked for the purchase of preliminary plans for an Upper Elementary School to be constructed on land off Pound Street.
Article 2. Voted that the sum of $1,810,000.00 be appropriated for the purpose of constructing, originally equipping and furnishing an Upper Elementary School on land presently owned by the Town off Pound Street, and for the purchase of final plans and drawings for the same, and that to meet said appropriation the sum of $20,000.00 be transferred from the unexpended balance of an appropriation made under Article 8 of the Special Town Meeting of September 17, 1962 and that the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen be and hereby is authorized to issue $1,790,00000 in bonds or notes of the Town under the provisions of Chapter 645 of the Acts of 1948 as amended.

Note: Prior to action on this article the School Planning and Building Committee showed the voters present, slides of the prospective building, giving views of the exterior, plan of rooms and facilities of the interior and an overall picture of the location of building, access roads to South and Pound Streets, etc., following which general discussion was held relative to same.
Article 3. Voted that the Permanent School Planning and Building Committee authorized and appointed under Article 29 of the Annual Town Meeting of 1962 shall constitute and be the School Building Commit- tee and hereby are authorized in the name of the Town of Medfield, to construct, furnish and originally equip an Upper Elementary School on land presently owned by the Town off Pound Street; that they be author- ized to enter into contracts for the same including final plans and draw- ings therefore; to approve bills for payment in connection therewith; to determine the location of such school on said land; to accept the building when completed and to transact all manner of business with the Massa- chusetts School Building Assistance Commission and any other appropri- ate governmental agency in connection with the project and to do or act any and all manner of business necessary or incidental to the foregoing purposes.
Article 4. Voted that this article be dismissed wherein possible taking of land for School purposes was considered.
Article 5. Voted that this article be dismissed.
Article 6. Voted unanimously to transfer the sum of $2,500.00 from available funds in the Treasury for Disability Assistance.
Article 7. Voted to transfer the sum of $1,944.26 from available funds in the Treasury for the purpose of paying land damages arising from the relocation of Hospital Road.

Voted that the sum of $11,000.00 be appropriated for the purpose of extending the water main from the intersection of Dale and Grove Streets down Grove Street in a northerly direction a distance of 1780 feet, more or less, to the site of the Town Dump, and that to meet said appropriation the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen be and hereby is authorized to issue bonds or notes of the Town in the sum of $11,000.00 payable in one year from the date of issue under the

provisions of Gen. Laws Chapter 44, such extension of the water main to be under the betterment assessment provisions of Gen. Laws Chapter 40, Sections 42G, 42H and 42I, as amended.
A standing vote was counted showing 264 in favor and 49 against passage.
Article 9. Voted that this article be dismissed wherein a sum of money was sought for the purchase of a bulldozer for use at the Town Dump.
Article 10. Voted that this article be dismissed wherein a sum of money was sought for the purchase of an equipment storage shed at the Town Dump.
Article 11. Voted that this article be dismissed wherein a sum of money was sought for the maintenance of the Town Dump.
Article 12. Voted unanimously that this article be dismissed wherein closing of the Town Dump was suggested.
Article 13. Voted that this article be dismissed wherein a sum of money was asked for the purpose of replanking and repairing the Curve Street Bridge.
Article 14. Voted to transfer the sum of $406.00 from the unexpended balance of the amount voted under Article 29 of the Annual Town Meeting of 1960, said sum to be used for the expenses connected with the layout of Lowell Mason Road and Johns Avenue.
Article 15. Voted to dismiss this article wherein the Fire Depart- ment sought a sum of money for the purchase of a new Tank Truck.
Article 16. Voted that this article be dismissed wherein the Town Clerk asked for action relative to having the streets of the Town com- pletely numbered. (Co-operation by Selectmen and Building Inspector was promised).
Article 17. Voted to transfer the sum of $1,000.00 from available funds in the Town Treasury for aerial spraying for mosquitos.
Article 18. Voted to transfer to the Medfield Memorial Library the sum of $1,505.25 received from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

under the provisions of Chapter 760, Acts of 1960, an Act providing aid for public libraries.
Article 19. Voted that this article be dismissed wherein a sum of money was sought to complete an engineering survey for the purpose of drilling test wells in order to seek new water supply.
Article 20. Voted to transfer the sum of $2,500.00 from available funds in the Town Treasury for an engineering report and recommenda- tions for temporary improvements to the sewer beds.
Voted that the meeting be dissolved.
