To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to abandon, in behalf of the Town, all right, title and interest which it acquired by virtue of an Order of Taking dated April 30, 1963 and recorded with Norfolk Deeds in Book 4068, Pages 378, 379 and 380, in, under and through that portion of the easement so taken which lies be- tween lands now or formerly of Laura H. Smith and Hugh S. Smith and Hillcrest Road, said Order of Taking to remain otherwise in full force and effect, or do or act anything in relation thereto.

To see if the Town will vote to accept a grant of ease- ment for water supply purposes in, over, under and through the land in Medfield shown on a subdivision plan of land entitled "Plan of Land in Medfield, Mass." dated Aug. 20, 1964 and revised April 6, 1965, drawn by Cheney Engineering Co. and being recorded with Norfolk Deeds as Plans No. 817 and 818 of 1965 in Plan Book 218, the area in, over, under and through which said grant is to be made being shown on the aforesaid plan as "Rolling Lane Extension" and said grant is to include the right to install, maintain and repair a water supply pipe or pipes, including necessary fittings and appurtenances thereto and such other rights in said Rolling Lane Extension as are necessary or incidental to the pur- poses of the grant, or do or act anything in relation thereto.

Pursuant to the foregoing warrant the meeting was called to order at the Dale Street School by the Moderator at 7:45 p.m. In view of the fact that copies of all the articles in the warrant, descriptive brochures rela- tive to the property in question of Article 12, and maps showing location of property pertinent to Articles 27, 28, 29 and 30 were given to all voters

present, the Moderator read the warrant notice, Constable's return and the following action was taken on the articles:


Article 1. Voted that the sum of $5,200.00 be appropriated for the purchase and installation of a new motor and appurtenances for the sub- merged pump at well #2 and that to meet said appropriation the sum of $3,698.41 be transferred from an account entitled "Reserve for #2 Well Fire Loss" and that the sum of $1,501.59 be transferred from free cash in the Town Treasury.


Article 2. Voted unanimously to authorize the Board of Selectmen to acquire by purchase, taking by eminent domain or otherwise, in behalf of the Town for water supply purposes, an easement for the installation and maintenance of water supply pipes in a strip of land forty (40) feet in width and running through lands now or formerly of Burgess P. and Caroline D. Stanley from the well field, so called to Elm Street and all as is shown on a plan entitled "Plan of Land and Right of Way to be ac- quired by the Town of Medfield, Mass." dated August 23, 1965, revised September 28, 1965, drawn by Cheney Engineering Co., Inc., copies of which are on file in the Office of the Selectmen, and to transfer the sum of $400.00 from free cash in the Town Treasury to defray the cost of ac- quisition of said easement.


Article 3. Voted unanimously to authorize the Board of Selectmen to acquire by purchase, taking by eminent domain or otherwise, in be- half of the Town for water supply purposes, an easement for the installa- tion and maintenance of water supply pipes, power lines and an access road in and over a strip of land generally forty (40) feet in width and run- ning through lands now or formerly of Kaufman Realty Corporation from the well field, so called, to High Street and all as is shown on a plan en- titled "Proposed Right of Way to be acquired by the Town of Medfield, Mass." dated August 23, 1965, drawn by Cheney Engineering Co., Inc., copies of which are on file in the Office of the Selectmen, and to transfer the sum of $220.00 from free cash in the Town Treasury to defray the cost of acquisition of said easement and any temporary working ease- ments as are necessary.


Article 4. Voted that the sum of $110,000.00 be appropriated for con- structing a building for a pumping station, including original pumping station equipment and any necessary power installation in connection therewith, and for laying and relaying water mains of not less than six inches but less than sixteen inches in diameter from the pumping station to Elm Street, and that to raise this appropriation the Treasurer with the

approval of the Selectmen be authorized to borrow he sum of $110,000.00 under the provisions of Chapter 44 of the General Laws as amended. 315 voted in favor of passage 29 voted against passage


NOTE-Prior to action under the foregoing article the Water and Sewerage Board submitted to the Meeting plans, specifications and esti- mates of the probable cost or expense of the project in accordance with Article 1, Section 6 of the Town By-Laws adopted March 8, 1926.


Article 5. Voted that the sum of $100,000.00 be appropriated for lay- ing and relaying water mains of not less than six inches but less than sixteen inches in diameter in Elm Street and Philip Street for a distance of approximately 4,400 feet and in Foundry Street to Nebo Street for a dis- tance of approximately 1,000 feet, and that to raise this appropriation the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen be authorized to borrow the sum of $100,000.00 under the provisions of Chapter 44 of the General Laws as amended.


Under a separate motion it was voted that the installation of water mains as provided for in this article be under the provisions of General Laws, Chapter 40, Sections 42G, 42H and 42I, as amended.

Voted unanimously that the sum of $24,400.00 be appro- priated for laying and relaying water mains of not less than six inches but less than sixteen inches in diameter in High Street from a point at the junction of High Street and Plain Street for a distance of approximately 1,300 feet in a southerly direction, and that to raise this appropriation the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen be authorized to borrow the sum of $24,400.00 under the provisions of Chapter 44 of the General Laws as amended.


Under a separate motion it was voted that the installation of water mains as provided for in this article be under the provisions of General Laws, Chapter 40, Sections 42G, 42H and 42I, as amended.
