5. Shielding of Lights
(a) In Industrial-Intensive (I-I) and Industrial-Exten- sive (I-E) Districts, all lights and other sources of illumination (whether interior or exterior) and all intense light emanating from operation or equipment (such as from an acetylene torch) shall be shielded from direct view at normal eye level from streets and Residential Districts. Any existing light sources not con- forming to the provision of this Section shall be properly shielded (or otherwise removed) within one (1) year of the effective date hereof.
6. Off-Street Parking
In the Industrial-Intensive (I-I) and the Industrial- Extensive (I-E) Districts, there shall be provided and maintained

improved off-street automobile parking spaces in connection with the erection, establishment or increase by units or dimensions of buildings, structures and use, in at least the following mini- mum amounts:
(a) One parking space for each one thousand (1,000) square feet of gross floor area on all floors.
(b) An off-street parking space shall be defined as an area of not less than 200 square feet, plus access and maneuver- ing space; for the exclusive use as a parking stall for one motor vehicle. For this By-Law a parking space shall be 10 feet wide by 20 feet long.
(c) Off-street parking spaces required hereunder shall be provided either on the same premises with the parking gen- erator, or on any premises, associated therewith; provided, how- ever, that the walking distance between the farthest point of the parking area and the main pedestrian entrance to the building or use in question shall not exceed five hundred (500) feet, except that in the case of parking space for employees only, the distance may be increased to eight hundred (800) feet.
(d) No off-street parking shall be allowed within the setback requirements for the front, side and rear yards of either industrial district.
(e) Where required parking spaces are provided away from the lot on which the use, other structure, or lot they are intended to serve is located, such space shall be in the same pos- session, either by deed, or long-term lease, as the property occu- pied by the use, structure or lot to which the parking spaces are accessory.
(f) No off-street parking accessory to an industrial area shall be permitted within a residential district.
7. Streets, Curbings and Sidewalks
In areas defined as industrial, construction and layout of all new streets, curbings and sidewalks shall conform to the rules and regulations governing the subdivision of land in the Town of Medfield, Mass., as amended to date.

8. Non-Conforming Uses
(a) Except as expressly provided herein, any lawful building, structure ,or use of a building, structure or land exist- ing on the effective date of this By-Law or any amendment there- to which does not conform to the provisions thereof may be con- tinued unless and until abandoned. However, a non-conforming use shall not be changed (except to a conforming use) nor ex- tended, and a non-conforming building or structure shall not be structurally altered, enlarged or reconstructed except as herein- after set forth. For the purposes of this Section, a non-conform- ing use which has been discontinued for more than twelve con -- secutive months shall be deemed to have been abandoned.
(b) The Board of Appeals may authorize by special per- mit a non-conforming use of a building, structure or land to be changed to a specified use not substantially different in character or in its effect on the vicinity. Said Board may also authorize by special permit a non-conforming use of a building, structure, or land to be extended, or a building devoted to a non-conforming use to be structurally altered or enlarged, providing that such extension, alteration or enlargement (i) will not have a materially adverse effect on the value of land and building in the neighbor- hood or on the amenities thereof, or be detrimental to the normal use of adjacent property, and (ii) will not be injurious or dan- gerous to the public health, or hazardous because of traffic con- gestion or other reasons.
9. Special Permit - Industrial District
(a) Certain uses are designated in Section V Industrial Classes of Districts; Industrial Intensive (I-I) and Industrial Extensive (I-E) sub-section 2 (b) by special permit and desig- nated by the letters (SP) in the Table of Use Regulations. Those uses that require a special permit shall come under the juris- diction of the Board of Appeals and shall be approved by them.
(b) Upon application duly made to the Appeal Board, the Appeal Board may, in appropriate cases and subject to appropriate conditions and safeguards, grant a special permit for such uses and no others.
(c) In acting upon an application for a special permit, the Appeal Board shall take into consideration whether: the specific site is an appropriate location for the use or structure;

the adequacy of public sewerage and water facilities, or the suit- ability of soils for on-lot sewerage and water systems; the use developed will adversely affect the neighborhood; there will be undue nuisance or serious hazard to vehicles or pedestrians; and adequate and appropriate facilities will be provided to ensure the proper operation of the proposed use, structure or condition. The Board of Appeals shall authorize such special permit only when it finds that, in view of these considerations, such excep- tion is consistent with the spirit of this By-Law.
10. For the industrial use of any lot in any Industrial Dis- trict, the proposed use shall not emit any smoke of a shade darker than No. 2 on the Ringelman Smoke Chart, as published by the U.S. Bureau of Mines; no air pollution particle concentrations shall exceed 0.3 grains per cubic foot; all inflammable or radio- active liquids shall be stored underground; the discharge of water shall be into a public sewer or the system subject to the written approval of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health; vibration shall not exceed the safe range of Table 7, U.S. Bureau of Mines, Bulletin No. 442; no sky reflected glare shall be per- mitted; and further provided that all materials shall be stored within a completely enclosed building.

ARTICLE 71 To see if the Town will vote to adopt the following By-law:
STREET NUMBERING BY-LAW
Street numbers shall be provided for each dwelling and each business, industrial, and other building in the Town of Med- field by the owner of such structures by ninety (90) days after approval by the Attorney General in accordance with the following:
1. The numbers shall be made of permanent, weatherproof material, shall be at least three (3) inches in height and shall be clearly visible from the the street or roadway upon which the dwelling or building fronts.

2. The numbers shall be placed on each structure or on a suitable support near the main entrance to the structure so as to be visible from the street.
3. The numbers shall be those assigned to each structure in accordance with the street numbering survey completed by the Board of Selectmen on file in the office of the Town Clerk.
4. It shall be the responsibility of each property owner in the town to obtain a number assigned to his affected struc- ture or structures within three (3) months of the effective date of this By-law.
5. This By-law shall be enforced by the Board of Selectmen of the Town of Medfield either directly or through an inspec- tor to be appointed by them. Failure to comply with this By-law shall subject the offending property owner to a fine not exceeding ten (10) dollars.

To either of the Constables of the Town of Medfield, in said County, greetings:
In the name of the Commonwealth you are directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Medfield, qualified to vote in elec- tions and in town affairs, to meet at the Amos Clark Kingsbury School Gymnasium, in said Medfield on Monday, the thirteenth day of March A.D. 1967 at 8:30 P.M. then and there to act on the following article:
ARTICLE 1. To see if the Town will vote to amend the Zoning By-law and Zoning Map of the Town of Medfield by removing the premises hereinafter described from the provisions of SECTION II, "AA", "A" and "C" RESIDENCE DISTRICT USES and placing the same under the provisions of SECTION IV.
