COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS
Worcester ss. To either of the constables of the Town of Southbridge, in said County, GREETINGS:
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Southbridge, qualified to vote in town affairs, to meet at the Town Hall, in said Southbridge, on Monday, May 20, 1963 at 7:30 P.M. then and there to act on the following articles:
Article 1. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate, borrow or transfer the sum of $700.00 to the Damages to Persons and Property Account, or act anything thereon.
Article 2. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, borrow or transfer a sum of money for the pur- chase and installation of a Chain-link type fence on the east and west side of the Police Station driveway, a total distance of approximately 300 feet, or act anything thereon.
Article 3. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, borrow or transfer the sum of $3,000.00 pursuant to the provisions of General Laws Chapter 40, section 5 (47) for the purpose of establishing and maintaining a business and industrial commission to promote business and industry in Southbridge, or act anything thereon.
Article 4. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, borrow or transfer the sum of $10,700.00 to the Pleasant Street Land Damage Account to pay for the settle- ment of certain land damage claims caused by takings made for the reconstruction and relocation of Pleasant Street, or act anything thereon.
Article 5. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, borrow or transfer a sum of money for connecting abandoned sewer lines from Veterans Housing Project to drainage system on Armory Lane, or act anything thereon.
Article 6. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, borrow or transfer a sum of money for the con- struction of a storm drain on Warren Street from the existing

drain southerly for a distance of about four hundred and forty (440) feet, or act anything thereon.
Article 7. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, borrow or transfer a sum of money for the con- struction of a sanitary sewer on Morris Street from the exist- ing sewer southerly to the end of the 1961 layout, a distance of about four hundred seventy-five (475) feet or act anything thereon.
Article 8. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, borrow or transfer a sum of money for the con- struction of a sanitary sewer on Fort Sumpter Road from the existing sewer at North Woodstock Road, thence southwester- ly for a distance of about three hundred and fifty (350) feet or act anything thereon.
Article 9. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, borrow or transfer a sum of money for the relay- ing of six hundred thirty (630) feet of sewer on Highland Street or act anything thereon.
Article 10. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, borrow or transfer a sum of money for the con- struction of a storm drain on Woodycrest Avenue from prop- erty of Donald Marino easterly along Highridge Avenue for a distance of about two hundred (200) feet, thence northerly along property of Warren McGrath and Victor Salviuolo for a distance of about two hundred and twenty-five (225) feet to Woodycrest Avenue, thence easterly along Woodycrest Avenue for a distance of about forty-five (45) feet to exist- ing drain or act anything thereon.
Article 11. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, borrow or transfer a sum of money for grading of gutter on westerly side of Roger Street for a distance of about one hundred eighty-five (185) feet, said grading to con- sist of excavation, gravel fill, and Type I surface or act any- thing thereon.
Article 12. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, borrow or transfer a sum of money for the con- struction of a stone rubble masonry wall along the easterly line of Roumanian Avenue opposite land owned by George and Anastasi Andrea with necessary supporting walls along the northerly line of Cisco Street and the northerly line of land owned by said Andrea or act anything thereon.
Article 13. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, borrow or transfer a sum of money for the recon-

struction of a sidewalk and installation of drainage on Dresser Street; said construction to consist of rebuilding one hundred (100) feet of sidewalk, grading driveway and lawn at South- bridge Nursing Home; said installation of drainage to consist of installing a drain at Franklin Terrace and at Southbridge Nursing Home or act anything thereon.
Article 14. To see if the Town will vote to sell for Five Hundred ($500.00) dollars to Massachusetts Electric Company, a Massachusetts corporation, the perpetual right and easement to construct, maintain and operate lines of towers or poles or both, and wires, together with the necessary fittings and ap- purtenances thereto, for the transmission of high and low voltage electric current and for telephone use, over, across and upon a strip of land in Southbridge, Worcester County, Massachusetts, owned by said Town, extending from land now or formerly of Raymond L. Mckinstry in a westerly direction to other land now or formerly of said Massachusetts Electric Company, said strip of land being generally bounded and de- scribed as follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner thereof at a point sit- uated North 19º 18' E., a distance of one hundred two and forty-eight hundredths (102.48) feet, more or less, from a drill hole in wall to the southwesterly corner of land conveyed to the Town of Southbridge by Worcester County Electric Com- pany by deed dated August 30, 1955 and recorded with Wor- cester District Deeds, Book 3743, Page 431, said drill hole be- ing also at the northeasterly corner of land described in the grant of an easement by the Town of Southbridge to Worces- ter County Electric Company by deed dated November 21, 1955 and recorded with Worcester District Deeds, Book 3745, Page 481;
Thence North 19° 18' E. by land of Massachusetts Electric Company, a distance of two hundred (200) feet to a point at other land of the Town of Southbridge;
Thence South 56° 21' E. by land of the Town of South- bridge, a distance of two hundred thirty-three and sixty-two hundredths (233.62) feet to the westerly line of a brook and land now or formerly of Raymond L. Mckinstry;
Thence southerly by the westerly line of brook and land now or formerly of Raymond L. Mckinstry a distance of eighty (80) feet, more or less, to a point at land of the Town of South- bridge;
Thence North 86° 28' W. by land of the Town of South- bridge, a distance of two hundred twenty-seven and sixty-five hundredths (227.65) feet to the point of beginning.
Also, the perpetual right and easement to use, for all purposes for which streets or ways are used in the Town of Southbridge, a portion of the hereinabove described strip of

land forty (40) feet in width, together with the right to fill, drain, pave and otherwise improve said portion of said strip as may be necessary in order to use the same for said purposes;
And to authorize the Selectmen to execute and deliver to said Massachusetts Electric Company such deeds or other in- struments as may be necessary to accomplish the same, such deeds or other instruments to be in such form as the Select- men may approve; or act anything thereon.
Article 15. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, borrow or transfer the sum of $500.00 for the purchase and installation of a monument in honor of Gold Star Parents on Gold Star Circle, or act anything thereon.
Article 16. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, borrow or transfer the sum of $1000 to Law Ex- pense Account to be used for expenses in the prosecution of suit against T. J. Brodeur and others, or act anything thereon.
Article 17. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, borrow or transfer the sum of Three Hundred ($300.00) dollars to the Recreation Committee Account, to be used for the purposes of the Community Softball League.
Article 18. To see if the Town will vote to transfer the sum of $1,000.00 from the Excess and Deficiency Account to the Police Department Building Repairs and Equipment Ac- count, said money to be used to continue renovations, work to be done by police personnel, or act anything thereon.
Article 19. To see if the Town will vote to transfer the sum of $1,500.00 from the General Parking Meter Fund to the Police Department Parking Meter Expense Account, said money to be used to reline, with semi-permanent type line marking, the pedestrian crosswalks from the Foster and Main Street intersection westerly on said Main Street, to and in- cluding the intersections of West, Mill, High, Hamilton and Main Streets, or act anything thereon.
You are directed to serve this warrant by posting attested copies in six (6) conspicuous places within the Town at least seven (7) days before holding said meeting.
Hereof fail not and make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon to the Town Clerk at the same time and place mentioned before.
