McCOY, THOMAS WILLIAM 1ST LIEUTENANT Son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis D. McCoy; born April 4, 1895, Bellefontaine, Ohio. Moved to Elkhart, Ind. in 1900. Student. Entered First Officer's Training Camp, Ft. Harrison, Ind. in May, 1917. Commissioned 1st Lieutenant. Overseas in August, 1917. Accidentally killed February 23, 1918, while instructing his men in grenade throwing, Chatillion Sur Seine, France. Buried in St. Thiebault Cemetery, Grave No. 17, American Row. The American Legion Post in Elkhart is named in his honor.
MEYER, RUSSELL RUCH PRIVATE Son of Albert A. and Lucy R. Meyer; born August 4, 1894, Goshen, Ind. Accountant for New York Central Railroad. Enlisted in U.S. Regular Army May 8, 1917, New York City. Sent to Ft. Hamilton, N. Y., assigned to 9th Company, Coast Artillery. Passed examinations for 1st Gunner. Died October 18, 1917, Post Hospital, Ft. Hamilton, N. Y., from operation for appendictis. Buried at Nappanee, Ind.

Entered service in Hospital Corps April 28, 1918, Goshen, Ind. Sent to Camp Dodge, lowa. Assigned to duty as Ward Master, Base Hospital. Died of pneumonia October 9, 1918, Camp Dodge, lowa. Buried in East Union Cemetery, Johnson County, Iowa.

Overseas in June, 1918; assigned to Company C, 108th Machine Gun Battalion, 28th Division. Killed in action Sep- tember 28, 1918, Mont Blanville, Argonne Forest. Buried, Mont Blanville, France.

NOONEY, KENNETH WASHBURN BUGLER Stepson of Mr. and Mrs. John Pressler of Elkhart; born August 14, 1900, Springfield, Mass. Working in Elkhart, Ind., when he enlisted with the Indiana National Guard, 3rd Infantry, for service on the Mexican Border. Re-enlisted in June, 1917. Sent to Camp Shelby, Miss .; assigned to Battery E, 137th Field Artillery. Promoted to Bugler, and acting Corporal. Died of valvular heart trouble May 5, 1918, Camp Shelby, Miss. (Burial place unknown.)
PEARSON, HARRY PRIVATE Son of Malon and May Pearson; born October 3, 1894, Mark Center, Ohio. Moved to Goshen, Ind. in 1896. Working on a farm near Elkader, lowa, when he was called into service early in 1918. Sent to Camp Dodge, lowa; assigned to Com- pany I, 357th Infantry. Went overseas in April, 1918. Died of disease July 25, 1918, "Somewhere in France." (Burial place unknown).
PEDLER, JOHN E. PRIVATE Son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Pedler; born January 15, 1898, London, England. Came to U.S. in October, 1907. Band instrument polisher. Entered service February 2, 1918, Elkhart, Ind. Sent to Omaha, Neb ; assigned to Signal Corps, 14th Balloon Company. Transferred to Newport News, Va. Went overseas in August, 1918. Following signing of Armistice, went into Germany, and died from accidental causes June 2, 1919, Mayence, Germany.
