Called into service October 15, 1918, and sent to Student Army Training Corps, Winona Lake, Ind., where he was taken ill and died of pneu- monia November 13, 1918. Buried in Switzer Cemetery one and one-half miles south of Foster, Warren County, Ind.

Body returned and buried at West Lebanon, Ind.
