Died of pneumonia February 3, 1919 at Evacuation Hospital No. 2, Coblenz, Germany. Buried in American Military Cemetery, Coblenz.

Wounded November 2, 1918 in the battle of Lys-Scheldt Offensive, and died from the effects of wounds November 10, 1918, at Evacuation Hospital No. 5. Buried northwest of Roulers, Belgium.

American Legion Post No. 8, Evansville, named in honor of Albert C. and Paul T. Funkhouser.
