Son of William and Sarah Montgomery Fenters (deceased); born March 24, 1876 in Warren County, Ind. Moved to Bos- well, Benton County, in 1898. Enlisted in U.S. Regular Army in 1907. Saw service in Philippine Islands, and China; and after serving six years, was mustered out. Re-enlisted April 10, 1917, Lafayette, Ind. Sent to Camp Taylor, Ky .; assigned to Company H, 45th Infantry. Died of pneumonia May 12, 1918, Camp Taylor. Buried in Boswell, Benton County, Ind.

Son of James Riley and Laura Bernice Ford (deceased) ; born March 3, 1894, Earl Park, Benton County, Ind. Entered service September 3, 1917, Fowler, Ind. Sent to Camp Grant, Ill .; assigned to Company C, 5th Limited Service Regiment, Motor Transport Corps, as truck driver. Contracted pneu- monia, from which he died October 6, 1917, Base Hospital, Camp Grant. Buried with military honors in Earl Park Cemetery, Earl Park, Benton County, Ind.
HANCOCK, CHARLES W. PRIVATE
Son of Clarence and Hester Jennings Hancock; born October 17, 1893, New Holland, Ohio. Moved to Oxford, Ind., in 1906. Enlisted in Indiana National Guard June 23, 1917, Indianapolis. Assigned to Company A, 'Ist Regiment, (151st Infantry). Sent to Ft. Benjamin Harrison, Ind .; transferred to Camp Shelby, Miss., where he died of pneumonia January 15, 1918. Buried in Williamsport, Ohio. The American Legion Post, Oxford, Ind., is named in his honor.

Son of Joseph and Mary Huntington; born March 24, 1890, Newton County, Ind. Family moved to Benton County when he was only a few years old, where he spent the greater part of his life. In 1912 he took up a mining claim in Montana, where he entered service May 1, 1917. Sent to Camp Lewis, Wash .; assigned to 31st Company, 8th Battalion, 166th Depot Brigade. Accidentally shot July 14, 1918. Buried in Earl Park Ceme- tery, Benton County, Ind.
JOHNSON, WILLIAM PRIVATE
Son of James and Katherine Philipps Johnson; born No- vember 4, 1891, Chicago, Ill. Family moved to Fowler, Ind. in 1894. Enlisted in U. S. Regular Army in 1909, served a three year enlistment, and was discharged. Re-enlisted, November 15, 1917. Sent to Fort Thomas, Ky .; assigned to Auxiliary Remount Depot, No. 318. Transferred to Camp Sherman, Ohio, where he died of pneumonia April 5, 1918. Buried, Fowler, Ind.
KENNEDY, MARTIN P. - - PRIVATE Son of Patrick J. and Ella Carroll Kennedy ; born November 27, 1895, Templeton, Benton County, Ind. Farmer. Entered service August 30, 1918, Fowler, Ind. Sent to Camp Sherman, Ohio; assigned to 31st Company, 8th Training Battalion, 158th Depot Brigade. Contracted pneumonia, and died October 12, 1918. Buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Oxford, Benton County, Ind. The American Legion Post, Otterbein, Ind., is named in his honor.

Sent to Camp Taylor, Ky .; assigned to 24th Company, 6th Training Battalion, 159th Depot Brigade. Transferred to Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga .; then to Kelly Field, Tex .; assigned to the Medical Department. Died of pneumonia October 16, 1918, San Antonio, Tex. Buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dunnington, Benton County, Ind. The American Legion Post, Ambia, Ind., is named in his honor.
MCKAY, WILBUR PRIVATE Son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Mckay; born May 4, 1887, Ripley County, Ind. Living in Fowler, Ind., when he entered service June 24, 1918. Sent to Camp Sherman, Ohio; assigned to 17th Company, 5th Training Battalion, 158th Depot Bri- gade. Transferred to Company G, 336th Infantry. Overseas in September, 1918; assigned to Company H, 358th Infantry. Participated in battle of St. Mihiel. Died of pneumonia October 28, 1918, Mesves, France.

MAUZY, CHARLES GERALD 2ND LIEUTENANT Son of Charles G. and Sarah L. Mauzy; born October 19, 1894, Fowler, Ind. Educated in Muncie Normal School. Entered Naval Aviation Service in Chicago, Ill., in September, 1917. Transferred to Cornell University; thence to Camp Dix, N. J .; later to Rich Field, Waco, Tex. In July, 1918 transferred to Rockwell Field, Cal., where he received com- mission as Second Lieutenant. Killed in airplane accident July 16, 1919, while flying over Hollywood, Cal. Buried in Fowler Cemetery, Fowler, Ind.
PLANTE, DELORIS L. PRIVATE Son of Isaac and Delina Plante; born May 18, 1895, Fowler, Ind. Farmer. Enlisted in U.S. Regular Army May 3, 1917, Fowler, Ind., and was sent to Jefferson Barracks, Mo. Trans- ferred to El Paso, Tex .; assigned to Medical Branch, Field Hospital No. 12, 1st Division. Went overseas in September, 1917. Took part in battles of Cantigny, Marne, and St. Mihiel. Died of pneumonia November 10, 1918, Bourges, France.
