Will Outlast Several of the Ordinary Kind for the Following Reasons : 1st. They have a thin double cover into which the Shields are placed without being stitched or fastened to the seam in the center, where all others break or tear, the ICOSANDRA GUTTA having sufficient magnetic properties to keep them in place without first fastening.
2d. The double covers prevent all strain on the Shields when putting the dress on, or taking it off. 3d. They also prevent wear from friction by the movement of the arm, on the inside from the seam of the dress sleeve and lining, on the outside from the corset and other clothing.
LIGHTER and more FLEXIBLE than Linen covered Points of Superiority .. Rubber Shields, cooler and more comfortable than those covered with Flannel or Oil Silk and Chamois Skin, and will always remain soft.
Shields can be removed from covers and sponged off with soap and cold water, and covers washed; then Icosandra Gutta replaced, and be as clean and fresh as new.
The Shields have been thoroughtly tested and will do all that we claim for them. Send for prices.

CHICAGO, April 1, 1883.
We have used the Acme Sleeve Protectors since the spring of 1881. They give general satisfaction. We now use them exclusively in preference to other Dress Shields.

INTERESTING
TO YOU and to every one. Do not let this pass you by without a thought, as you may be in the habit of doing just as soon as you get a vague, faint idea as to what it relates, for in justice to yourself this may demand some consideration from you. If you are not personally in need of the assistance we here- in tender you, you certainly have in your circle of friends and acquaintances, be it ever so limited, some who are afflicted (owing to the climatic peculiarities, extreme changes in temperature, etc.,) with the very prevalent and treacherous maladies we mention here, who will feel grateful toward you if you call their attention to this item, and which we will, with the aid of the sufferer in the use of our Remedies, sincerely promise to give immediate relief, and permanently cure. Dr. W. L. Clay's Great Cure for Catarrh, Hay Fever, etc., wherever introduced, is always admitted to be even more than is claimed for it.
Aside from the evidence we give you of the virtue in our medicine, and the benefit to be derived from a trial, we throw out the extra inducement of $100.00 reward for a case of the kind we mention that our Remedies will not cure, and all druggists who handle our Medicines are requested to return, at our expense, the purchase-money to any one who, upon trial, does not find relief in their use.
Being located here in Louisville, we of course, in the beginning, have done our greatest work here. We have, up to the present time, cured here more than one thousand cases of Catarrh, Hay Fever, etc., and have met with not a single failure. The proof of the absolute curing property of our medi- cines lies in the fact that those who used our Remedies at the very moment of introduction, more than . two years ago, have not been troubled with a symptom since, and showing conclusively that ours is not one of the much-lauded nostrums, affording mere temporary relief, but positively and permanently curing the trouble ; and furthermore, wherever we once sell our medicine "we sell again," and it is easy and simple to take-nothing complicated or difficult about the mode of taking.
