The county seat of Decatur county is a flourishing city of 3,800 inhabitants, located at crossing of C I St L & Cand V G & R R Rs, 47 miles southeast of Indianapolis and 64 north- west of Cincinnati. Greensburgh is sur- rounded by a rich farming district, from which it receives a good support. The city has real and personal property assessed value aggregating $1,700,000, carries a bonded debt of $21,600 and is supplied with a volunteer fire department, gas works, 7 churches, high and graded schools, 3 banks and 2 hotels. Three weekly news- papers are issued-the Standard, Democrat and Review.
