This extensive manufactur- ing city of 8,000 inhabitants, the judicial seat of Miami county, is pleasantly located on the Wabash river, at crossing of main line and I P & C Div of the W St L & P R R, 75 miles from Indianapolis, 143 from Chicagp, and 56 from Ft Wayne. A settle- ment was formed here in 1832. It is to-day a handsome, well-built city, supplied with good county buildings, a number of hand- some residences, substantial business blocks, gas and water works, well-equipped fire de- partment, telephone exchange, fine opera house, 6 hotels and 3 national banks.
