CHICAGO. Aug. 4 .- (A. P.)-Alles shooung his wife, Bernard Mccabe. | 97-year-old auto dealer. shot and killed himself here today. Police said the man was angered because his wife had left him. Mra McCabe r.ma shot -- three times but was czpected to re- cover. ....
The shooting occurred at the home of another woman with whom Mrs. Mccabe had gone to live after de- serting her husband.

Stotts City, Mo., Man Killed in Accident; Find Body in Stream
STOTTS CITY, Mo., Aug. 6 .- (P) -Loren Hill. 29 years old. was kill- ed about midnight last night when his motor car struck the abutt- ment of a narrow culvert south of here and turned over Into a small stream.
The accident was not discovered until cutly this morning when a motorist: from Monett noticed the wrecked car and. on stopping to investigate, saw Hill's band pro- truding from the water, which way about three feet deep.

Authorities were notified and an Investigation was conducted, but the cause of the accident was not definitely established. Hill's chest was cruahed and. In the opinion of a physician. it was that Injury which caused his death.

Funeral services were held Sun- day afternoon for Thomas Mane- field at Catholic cemetery. He was killed in yarde Friday night, when in some unknown manner he fell In front of an engine. He was an old engineer having worked out of Mo- | nett for years. Was 66 years and nome months of age at time of ac- cident. He has a son. James who works in yards and one of first to find the body.

BOLIVAR, Ho. Aug. S .- Kra. Matilda J. Stafford, 18 years old, died at her home here today follow- ing a short illness. Despite her ed- vanced age. Mre. Stafford was ac- tive and transacted business in Bolivar a short time before death. Bbe was the widow of L. L. Btaf- ford, civil war veteran, whose death a few years ago broke up a mar- ried life of more than 70 years. Mra. Stafford is survived by more than 100 direct descendants ..

WILLIAM R. ELLISON .... Wiliam R. Elison, st. of Beque ota, died at'Savannah, Mo., Friday. and his body arrived in Springfield yesterday and will be taken home today by the Paxson funeral home. Funeral announcements will be made 'later.
Mr. Ellison was the father of J. H. Ellison, who runs general store at Sequlota, and also of elx daughters.
