Leonodis Jake Schenker, 51 years old, for four years . Springfield po- lice officer, died at 8:30 a. m. today as his home, 2011 North Mimourl avenue following more than a year's ilInca of heart disease.


Mr. Bchenker had been in ill health for the past two years, but his con- dition grew worse about six months lago and he was forced from motive duty. He had been bedfast for the past three months.

lie is survived by his wife. Mrs. Mattis May Schenker: three ain- term. MIN. Addio ('rozier. Turcum- 1.la, Ala .; Mra. Jagile B. Hutch- trzon of Vienna, Mo .; Mrs. W. R. Parker. St. Louis, Mo .; a brother, Ttolært It. Schenker of Springfield: and an aunt, Mrs. Joo Kern of 81. Inula, who was at the beside when death rame.


MRS. C. J. WHEELAND + Hra"C. J." Wheeland,' 81, whose husband : was one of the founders of 8ºara-Roebuck and company, died carly yesterday morning at her home" at 'Cliquot." north of Spring- field. Mra .: Wheeland also was a cousin of Dr. Thomas Swope, poted physician of Kansas City.


Funeral services will be held this afternoon at Cliquot. The Hutche- Ja-Blue Undertaking company is in charge .of funeral arrangements.

SCHENKER SERVICES.


Funeral services for Leonodia Jako Schenker. 52, who died at 6:30 a. m. Jesterday at his. home, 2011 North Missouri avenue, will be held at 2 30 p. m. tomorrow at the Woodland Heights Presbyterian church. Rev. E. W Armstrong will officiate. "Burial will be Lu Kast Lawn cemetery under direction of the Almu Lohmeyer Funeral bome. Bervloes at the grave will be under the auspices of Gate of the Temple lodge of the Masonic or- det. of which he was a member.


Pallbearers will include Chief A. C. Boohm. J. H O'Bryant, Ed Hicks. Frank Kynion, Ralph Mckenzie and .W. 8. Curtis.


Officer Schenker had been a mer- ber of the police force for four years. joining the departinent in 1922. He whenstyl health for two years. Č


the past six months he was bed- fast, suffering from heart disease.
