George Lawrence was prosperous a a farmer and when he died in 1800. at the age of 72. he had quite an ea- tate, including the present home on West Walnut street. Mrs. Lawrence later sold the farm and led a quiet life at the home. The family was well known in the city and Greene county. She had been reading at the home- stead practically alone since the death of her husband. Her son had visited her ench spring und fall since 1809. .

Found Government Bonds.

When Mra. Lawrence broke her arm she was removed to a local hospital for treatment. Two women were se- cured to care for the home. While looking for some of the aged woman's clothing, the two women discovered a large number of government bonds ! :... dressto drawer. They were amiar- ed to find that the total was 629.500. ; The bonds were deposited.In the Mc- Daniel National bank, pending the recovery of the aged woman.


The son said today that he believed his father also had left a number of Ferment bonds. When asked if the bonds his father left were among those deposited In his mother's name at the McDaniel bank, Lawrence sald ! "I don't think so."


Funeral service will be held n: 2 3b o'clock Monday afternoon from the Almıa lohineyer Funeral home. 534 St., Louls street, with Interment in Maple ; Park cemetery.

Funeral services '"for" Mrs. "Anna Hayu, aged 87, who died at. 7:00 o'clock fast night after a lingering ill- news at her home. 716 South Plok- wick, were conducted at 4 o'clock this afternoon from the Alma Lohmeyer Funeral home. Burial was in Maple Park cemetery. She is survived by a stepdaughter, Mrs. Mose Whitaker, of Maruhfield.
