Funeral services were conducted by the Reverend Cherry Foster, with burial In a family cemetery on the farm where she had lived for a number of years. She is survived by two sons. Charles and Frank, by three granddaught- ers. Lou, Ilattle and Katie, and one grandson. Francis Willard. She was married In 1860 to Van Buren Miller, who died In 1910. She was : born In Iowa in 1839 and a few ¡years later, moved with her family- to Kansas and thence to Stone county. Missouri. She took much pride In the fact that she had whook -- ' hands with Abraham Lincoln and had heard him speak during the Lincoln-Douglas debate.

Pioneer Physician Stricken With Acute Indigestion Tuesday and Passes Away at Home of Daughter in Columbus, Kan.


Funeral serviços for. Dr. Jesse T. Bruton, 95 yaers old. pioneer Missouri physician, who died at the home of a daughter. Mrs. John Stuckey. Co- lumbus, Kan., at 8:30 p. m. yesterday. will be held at 2 p. m. tomorrow at Carl, Junction, where he had resided for a number of years.


Bervices will be held at the Bap- tist church with burial in the Carl Junction cemetery beside the body of his wife, who died 17 years ago. Dr. Bruton apparently had been , In good health . until he was stricken Tuesday with acute Indigestion.

His son, O W. Bruton, superin- tendent of terminala for the Frisco here, left at 3 a. m. yesterday, after hearing of his father's illness, and arrived In time to see him before death came. t.


Born In Tennessee July 24/ 10323 Doctor Bruton came to Missouri with his parents when only eight years old. He served during the Civil war as an army medical man, and prac- ticed medicine for about 40 years. Ha later became a Baptist minister. Dr. Bruton retired about 10 years ago and since that time had made i his home with a daughter. Mrs. C. A. Reding of Joplin. Prior to his re- i tirement be had practiced at Carl :
