Just one little story and then we til leave this man to others who are etter qualified to extol his virtues.

MT. Fulbright and his assoolste visfted the tract and paused beside a luge spring to quench their thirst. Parched on the side of a bill just aburs tham was a one-room log cabin. with the Thinkmy way lacking between many of the timbers. In the dearway of the cabin. watching them with anxi- ous eyes, atood a woman, And beyond her years. with two uli-kopt, tow- headed youngsters clinging to her skirts. In front of the house lay a rusty bull-tongue plow yith ite shovel turned up toward the sun. A crow- bait horse was tied to & sapling near the cabin and Ibe bark ww gnawed from the trunk as high as the horse | could reach.

"Suppose you were turned loose with that bull-tongue plow, with that old horse on that rocky hillside to make a living for that woman and two children." said Mr. Fulbright to hia companion.

"I guess i'd be a little alow with . my rent." was the reply.

"I guess you would. too, and ao would I," responded Mr. Fulbright. ; "What do you say we let them alone. I They won't use much land and if they | can make a living it will be better then tuming them out. Maybe we will collect our rent later on. You can't tell "

"Let's go to town." responded hia associate, and the squatters were not ordered of the land.
