The girl's mother had been dead for 12 years and, this teacher wald. Miss Lamun confided in her. "There was not a better girl in the school," she said. She was a talented musl- clan and enjoyed her music."

Mr. Mack was 65 years old and was born on a farnı five miles southı of Springfield on the Campbell ave- nue road. He spent all of his life in Greene county.
He was educated In Springfield schools and after graduation en- tered the employ of an express com-
pany. He traveled out of Springfield for eight years with thia company. He left this work in 1909:and a few months later opened a grocery store on Boonville avenue one block from the store which he operated at the time of his death.

Mr. M /k was at one time n member of the Cumberland Presby: terlan church, later transferring his membership to the Tabernacle Presbyterian church, of which he was a deacon. lle also was a mem- ber of the United lodge No. 5. A. F. and A. M. and of the local chapter of Modern Woodmen of America.
