According to information received by Mrs. Horn. her granddaughter was . wading in the Verde river near Clark- : dale on June 28 when a cloudburst caused a large wall of water to sweep ; down without warning on the girl. her sister, and two other companions. Dorothy Lee was swept away but a man who could not awim grabbed a rope and rescued the other three girls. The body of Dorothy Lee was not recovered until two days later.

YOUTH DROWNED IN OSAGE AT OSCEOLA
OSCEOLA, Mo., July 11 .- (Special.) -The Osage river claimed Its first victim here late Saturday afternoon when a boy by the name of Canon. 11-year-old son of a motion picture theater operator here, was drowned while swimming with other small boys in the river at Ososols. His com- panions stated that he either be- came frightened or that he suffered crampa while swimming in water about eight feet deep. They attempt- ed to rescue him but were kept back by his frantic efforts to 'seize his rescuers and pull them down with ·him. The body was rescued by a Ilsherman.
Attempts at artificial. respiration to revive the drowned boy failed, as he had been at the bottom of the river for about 15 minutes before be- ing brought to the- top.

The Central Baptist church at Kel- ley, which was decorated in overgreen. woodland and garden flowers, ferns and streamers of white satin ribbon. was the setting for a very pretty wed- ding when Miss Leone Killingsworth became the bride of C. Bertrand Selle of Shreveport. I.s . Saturday evening at 8 o'clock. Miss Hazel Gates of this city, cousin of the bride, sang "I Love You Truly" and "At Dawning." ac- companied on the plano by Miss Mar- Jory Looney of Walnut Grove and on the violin by Mrs. Roxie Rose of Brooklyn, cousin of the bride. The bride was attended by her cousin. Miss Helen Gates, as maid of honor. and Miss Martha Bue Bridges and Miss Mary Killingsworth, sister of the bride, as bridesmaids Misses Wanda Metcalf, and Olive Jean Gouty, flower Fiets" were followed by"the bride on the arm of her father.
