Otage County: Man Will Face First Degree Murder Charge For Killing Son -
. A first degree murder charges prepared yesterday against Rodney Groves. Osage county farmer, who to held in jail at Inn. for the slaying Thursday night of his ?? Years old son. Thomaa.
A coroner's Jury found that "Thomas Grotes came to his death from a gunshot wound Inflicted by a shot gun in the lianda of Rodney Groves." It was diaclosed at the inquest that a defective cartridge probably averted a double killing. In & family quarrel one of Groves' daughters sought to ald Mre. Groves and the father shot the shotgun at the girl but the shell falled to fire. Turning on his son, Groves shot a charge.Into the youth's body, kili- ing him Instantly.
Groves Indicated he would plead self defense. He will be given pre- liminary hearing next week.
