Mr. William E. Mc Wade drowned Sunday in the Gasconade near Lebanon. He was buried in Joplin.

ANNIVERSARY DINNER AT FREEMAN RESIDENCE
An anniversary dinner was the' - feature of the celebration of 60 years of married life by the Rev- : erend and Mrs. J. M. Freeman of . Vista, Mo., last Tuesday. -
A large number of friends . and ! relatives attended the celebration and the assembly was entertained by a group of musicians from Springfield, after which the couple were presented gifts.
Reverend Freeman was born In Caldwell county, Kentucky, In 1851 'And his wife was born In Jefferson county. Tennessee, In 1833.

Shortly after their marriage they traveled overland to Bt. Louis, from which point they went by' boat to Kansas City, which, by the way. was only a boat landing at that time, and landed there on June 16, '1869. They entered the state of Kansas and decided to homestoad fand there, and In so doing they were forced to endure the hard- ships of that life with other fam- Ifles during the pioneer days of Kansas. Funeral services were held yea- terday at Miller, Mo. for J. T. Alexander, 65. Ilfelong resident of Milter who was found dead Friday morning.
The services were held at the Pat- ton chapel, with the Reverend James Speer of Miller. In charge. Burial was at Pennsboro, Mo .. eeven miles north of Miller. -
Surviving are his widow. Mrs. Mary Alexander: a son, J. A. Alax- ander of Morrisville, Mo., and a daughter, Mrs. Temple Long. re- siding in California. Alfrey Adams of Carthage is a brother-in-law. -- -
