Hodges wus riding the horse down West Pacific street after the riding' exhibition at ,the livery stable and galloped past ; der going in the same direction. The horse shied at the oar. Jumped and fell to the pavement. . Hodges' left the saddle as the boree was falling. and It was thought that one of his spurs became caught in a stirrup strap, causing him to fall hearlly on his head and right shoulder.
