Population, 6,000. The judicial seat of Oconto county, is an incorporated city, sit- uated on the west shore of Green Bay at the mouth of the Oconto river and on the C. & N. W. and C., M. & St. P. Rys., 157 miles north of Milwaukee. The city is lighted by electricity, has an excellent sys- tem of water works, an efficient fire de- partment, telephone facilities, churches of the Catholic, Episcopal, Lutheran, Metho- dist and Presbyterian denominations, a high and 5 graded schools, a convent, 2 Catholic parochial schools, a Lutheran pa- rochial school, city hall, 2 public halls, each capable of seating 500, the Armory Hall, seating 1,200, Turners' Hall, seating 1,200, a $51,000 court house, 2 banks and 4 news- papers, Enquirer, Lumberman, Oconto County Enterprise and Oconto County Re- porter. The Oconto Land Co., with a capi-
concern, handling large tracts of timber, farming and mineral lands. The fish trade is an important industry, the exports amounting to over 10,000 barrels annually. The Oconto Company and the Holt Lum- ber Company are large lumber manufac-
