There was an abundance of energy but limited capital, therefore the first beginnings were necessarily small. In- significant as they were, however, they were the cornerstones of the future pros- perity of the city. Two small tanneries, started in the early sixties with a few

employing between 2,500 and 3,300 hands, and giving Sheboygan the proud distinction of being the banner chair town of the United States. A small bedroom furniture factory, started in much the same way, has on its pay roll 1,000 hands, and turns out several car loads of furniture daily. To sum up, there are between 5,500 and 6,000

The above cut is a fair representation of our latest product in wheelbarrows which is intended for dling coal, ashes, etc. The capacity of trays are made from 250 to 400 lbs. as desired. The weight of a 400 acity coal barrow is approximately 115 lbs. and the smaller in proportion.
The whole barrow is of metal, the frame forming also the handles are made of tubing and securely riveted rays on front sides. Steel plates are used in construction of the tray, the outer edge of which is flanged to it the proper stiffening.
The legs, braces and heel are made of wrought iron, thus securing the combination of great strength, dura- ty and comparative lightness. We are also in a position to furnish upon short notice any special design rows. Prices upon application.
