which is the headquarters for all parties visiting this section of the country. The hotel is electric lighted throughout, neatly furnished, steam heated, has hot and cold water and the menu is of the best. Numerous lakes reached from Hayward afford the best of fishing and game is plentiful. The country is. as yet, sparsely settled and an almost virgin field is offered to the sportsman.

The Nama - Kagon River on which the town is located and all its tributaries, among which are the Mosquito Creek, Mc- Dermott Brook, Big Brook, Beam Brook and the Mackey Branch are good trout streams. These streams are all with- in a short distance of the town and may be visited during the day, returning to Hayward in the eve- ning. Anyone wish- ing to spend a few days catching the speckled beautieswill make no mistake in coming to Hayward.

Those wishing to catch muskellunge, bass, pike, etc., can be accommodated at A GOOD DAYS WORK. any of the summer resorts on the different lakes which are easily reached by team. SMITH LAKE, three miles north of Hayward contains bass, crappies and pickerel. ROUND LAKE, eight miles east of Hayward is abundantly supplied with small mouth black bass, lake trout and pike.

TWIN LAKES. two miles further on afford muskellunge and bass fishing. SPIDER LAKE, about fourteen miles east of Hayward is famous for its excellent muskellunge fishing. Black bass and other varieties of fish are also plentiful.

TEAL LAKE and LOST LAND LAKE, are about twenty miles east of Hayward and afford unusually fine sport in muskellunge and bass fishing.

About five miles beyond Lost Land Lake is Ghost Lake and the Chippewa River. The dam in the Chippewa River at this point is a good fishing ground for large muskellunge. Ghost Lake and the Chippewa Dam are not very fre- quently visited but parties who choose to make the trip are invariably successful in remarkable catches both as to size of fish and numbers.

BASS LAKE, six miles south of Hayward is an excellent bass fishing ground.
