Its location on the Me- nominee gives it. with its twin city, the control of the vast water nower of this great river. which is particularly valuable to manufacturers. Three railroads enter the city, the C. & N W. R.v .. the C., M. & St. P. Ry. (depots 100 yards apart), and the Wis. & Mich. Rv. The Menominee & St. Paul Ry. is proiected. starting from this point. and making an air line to St. Paul. The city contains Presbyterian, Methodist Episcopal, Christian Science. Lutheran. three Catholic. Norwegian, Swe- dish. German and Baptist churches, 7 large graded schools and high school. an acad- emy.
