3. That any Person or Persons liveing out of ye Town who shall send any Scholler or Schollers to the aforesa School shall pay Twenty Shillings a year to ye Town Treas". and proportionable for any part of it. Provided that any poor persons in this Town who shall send any children to sd school & find themselves unable to pay upon their Applycation to the Selectmen it shall be in their Power to abate or remit a part o ye whole of ye above sd Sum. -
4. That what the Rent of ye Town Lands and ye head money of ye Schollers shall fall short of ye Schoolmasters sallery shall be Raised by a Town Rate equally proportioned upon ye Inhabitants of sd Town.
Then also voted yt L' John Baxter & L' Samuel Penniman should carry what is agreed upon & voted as above sd to ye next sessions & offer it to them for their approbation & confirmation.
ye same day also ye sª Inhabitants voted that Sir veasey. John veasey should be ye Schoolmaster for ye present yeare. if he & ye Selectmen can agree they to agree with him as reasonably as they can :
It was then also voted that Nathaniel owen should have five pounds allowed him next Town Rate Towards ye errecting of a Room for ye entertaining & taking care of his Father & mother. Provided ye said owen will doe it.
November ye Tenth 1701.
the Selectmen of Braintree did agree with Mr. John Veasey To keep school in sª Braintree for one year for thirty pounds ye Time to begin upon the Tenth of november aforesd.

It was then voted by ye Inhabitants aforesaid that a Rate of Fourty pounds be made forthwith for ye defraying of Town charges the one halfe to be in money the other halfe in graine mony Price £40.

Joseph Parmenter was then voted Town Treasor. and it was then also voted that Joseph Parmenter should have Thirty Shil- lings for his service as Towne Treasur. for that instant year 1702.

The freeholders of Braintrey & ye other Inhabitants qualified according to Law that might vote for a Representative being (by virtue of a warrant from ye Selectmen to ye Constables) warned to meet & chuse. a Representative they chose Elder Nathaniel Wales their Moderator for that time. They also chose L' John Baxter their Representative.

Braintrey ye 16 Decembr. 1702.
The Inhabitants of Braintrey Legally convened then chose L' John Baxter their Moderator for that day.
December ye 16th 1702.
It was then voted that M'. John Veasey should be their School master for halfe a year now comeing & that ye P sent Selectmen should agree with him (he accepting of it) as reseonably as they can.
[76] Decembr. 16. 1702.
Then voted that Elder Nathaniel Wales Mr. Wm Rawson & John Webb be a committe apointed to treat with wm Drake of weymouth about his meadow in Braintrey & buy it of him if they se meet.
