Voted that the Selectmen be directed to Remove any person who has or may break out with the small pox, to such a place as they may think will be most for the safety of the Inhabitants and the public.
Voted that the Selectmen examine those persons (if any there be) who may break out with the small pox and should it appear that they were Inoculated they will take the steps of the Law.
Voted that the Committee be directed Immediately to see that the Houses of Mr. Atherton Wales, Doct. Ephraim Wales and Mr Richard Thayer be cleansed from the infection of the small pox and if any person there be in either of those Houses who may be infected with that disorder that they be immediately removed to such place as they may think proper. The Freeholders and other Inhabitants of the Town of Braintree being assembled this tenth day of December by adjournment from Novr. 26th. no collector agreed with, only one of the Assessors present, after choosing Mr. Solomon Thayer one of the School Come. in the Room of Maj. Samuel M Thayer who was gone to Boston to live, The meeting was then desolved.
Decr 10.
At the same Time the Inhabitants assembled on a new warrant after a Moderator chosen to see if the Town will consent to sell the Towns wood in the Town of Quincy and to chuse a Com for that purpose Assembled Majr. Penniman Moderator, there was not a vote for to sell the wood, the meeting was disolved.

The Freeholders and other Inhabitants of the Town of Brain- tree being assembled pursuant to legal warrants particulars are as follows after a Moderator chosen.
First To see if the Town will Authorize and impower their Treasurer to Borrow such sum or sums of money as are necessary to pay the Towns debts which they are in Connection with the Town of Quincy.
Secondly to see if the Town will Petition the General Court to put a stop to the Distilling Spirituous liquors out of Rye.
Thirdly to chuse any Committee or hear the Report of any the Town may think proper when assembled.
Assembled as aforesaid Capt™. Eliplialet Sawen Moderator.
Voted that the Treasurer give his Security as Treasurer for said Town for their part or proportion of all Debts due from them pre- vious to the Incoperation of the Town of Quincy.
Voted a petition be presented to the General Court praying that a stop be put to the distilling Rye into Spirits. Then Voted that Hon. Samuel Niles Esq. Majr. Stephen Penniman and Capt. Elisha Wales be a Committee to draught and sign a Petition in behalf of the Town for the purpos aforesaid.
