A settlement located at the head of Little Bay de Noquet, in the township of Mason- ville, Delta county, 12 miles north of Es- canaba, the county seat, and 5 east of Day's River station, on the C. & N. MATHERTON.


Located on Fish creek, in North Plains township, Ionia county, is a village of 300 people, about 17 miles northeast of Ionia, the seat of justice, and 5} due north of Pewamo, on the D., G. H. & M. Ry, its shipping point, with which there is a daily mail by stage, and via which Detroit is dis- tant 118 miles. The creek affords water power for operating a flour and shingle mill; cabinet ware and cider are also man- úfactured. Grain, lumber, shingles and wool comprise the shipments. N. P. A village on the M. C. R. R., in Antwerp township, Van Buren county, 6 miles east. of Paw Paw, the county seat, 12 southwest of Kalamazoo, and 156 west of Detroit. It was settled in 1830, and has a population of 350, surrounded by a fine farming coun- try, and ships farm produce and live stock. The place contains Methodist Episcopal. R. R. with the main line 13 miles west, is its railroad point, with which it connects tri- weekly by mail stage. It has Methodist and Baptist churches, a good public school, saw, flouring and planing mills, a cheese factory and an iron foundry. Flour, grain, lumber and wool are shipped.
