BREMEN. Is an incorporated town of 1,200 inhabitants, located on the B. & O. R. R., in German township, Marshall county, 13 miles northeast of Plymouth, the county seat, and location of nearest bank. This is a prosperous, growing vil- lag, surrounded by a rich farming district and contains 7 churches-Lutheran, Metho- dist, Congregational, Evangelical, Catholic, United Brethren and German Reformed-a graded school of 4 departments, and 2 hotels, A weekly newspaper, the Banner, is sus- tained. Bremen is rapidly becoming an important manufacturing town, numbering now among its prominent mills, factories, etc., 5 saw mills, a stave factory, 2 flour mills, 1 pump factory, 1 woolen mill, a wagon material factory and 1 cooper shop. BROOKSTON. Is located on the L., N. A. & C. R'y, in Prairie township, White county, 16 miles southwest of Mon- ticello court house, 14 north of Lafayette, the location of nearest bank. Brookston contains 566 inhabitants, Methodist and Baptist churches, a graded school, 1 ho- tel, a tile factory, and a weekly newspa- per-The Reporter. It derives its entire support from the surrounding country, which is very productive, especially as to the growth of grain, which, with live stock; comprises its chief exports. Am. and L.,
