R.'s, 39 miles southeast of Indianapolis, and 84 northwest of Cincinnati; it is incor- porated, carries a bonded debt of $18,000, has real and personal property (assessed value) amounting to $1,051,185; is lighted by gas, has a good fire department, and supports 6 churches-Methodist, Christian, Presbyterian and Catholic-1 high school, a public hall, 2 banks, 2 hotels, and 2 weekly newspapers, the last mentioned are known as the Republican and Jacksonian. Rushville has good business blocks, sub- stantial county buildings, handsome resi- dences, and is in the centre of one of the most productive agricultural district in the State; its manufactories comprise 3 planing mills, 1 tile factory, 4 flour mills, 1 chair factory, 5 saw mills, 1 tile mill factory, and 1 grain drill factory ; grain, live stock and lumber are shipped. RUSSIAVILLE. This is a very thrifty village located in Honey Creek township, Howard county, 10 miles south- west of Kokomo, the county seat and bank- ing town, and 17 northeast of Frankfort. This place was settled in 1849, and is the present location of 750 persons. It is tra- versed by the F. & K. Div. T., D. & C. R. R., and supports 3 churches, a graded school, 1 hotel, 1 weekly newspaper-Ob- server-1 flour mill, 1 drain tile factory, 1 planing mill, and 2 saw mills.
