OFFICE AND FACTORY :

FORT WAYNE, INDIANA.

Academy of Our Lady & Sacred Heart,

NEAR FORT WAYNE, ALLEN CO., IND.

CONDUCTED BY THE SISTERS OFITHE HOLY CROSS.

THE ABOVE INSTITUTION, most eligibly situated six miles from the city of FORT WAYNE, offers par- ticular advantages to persons desiring to acquire a solid, useful, and ornamental education. It is easy of access,

one mile east of the Academy Station, which is twenty minutes' ride from the city, on the Ft. Wayne & Jackson

Railroad. At the same distance from said city, on the Grand Rapids Railroad, is Wallen Station, two and a half miles west of the institution. The English course is thorough, including, besides Elementary Branches, Botany, Astronomy, Chemistry, the Higher Mathematics, Belles-Lettres, etc. The French Language is taught by competent natives of France, and spoken in the institution, being the language of the vicinity. Particular attention is paid to Music. French, Vocal Music in class, and Fancy Work form no extra charge. Pupils received at all times during the year.

Non-Catholic pupils are required (only for the sake of uniformity), to assist at the public exercises with propriety and

decorum. No uniform necessary. Letters sent and received, subject to inspection. Payment required half-

yearly in advance. Books and Fancy Work can be had at the institution at current prices. Each pupil should have 4 towels ; 4 napkins; 1 knife, fork, spoons, goblet; 1 dressing gown ; 2 black aprons ; 4 changes of linen ; summer and winter balmoral. Great expense, in this institution, is not a necessary attendant upon a thorough education, the terms being placed at a rate which, it is hoped, will prove an incentive to all who appreciate an academical course. Weekly notes, monthly bulletins, semi-annual examinations, and public distribution of premiums at the end of the scholastic year, are among the many means in use for exciting a laudable emulation. Love of intellectual pleasures, as well as easy, graceful deportment, is cultivated by weekly entertainments, consisting of Music, Readings, Declamations,

etc., held in the Academy.
