R'ys, in Reserve township, Parke county, 9 miles west of Rockville, the county seat and banking town, 23 north of Terre Haute, and 67 west of Indianapolis. It is surrounded by a rich farming district, and supports Methodist, Presbyterian, and Catholic churches, a graded school, 2 hotels, a weekly newspa- per-Era-2 saw mills, 1 flour mill, and a fire brick and tile yards. MOORESVILLE. Is a substan- tial, thrifty, incorporated town of 1,000 in- habitants, located on the I. & V. R'y, in Brown township, Morgan county, 15 miles northeast of Martinsville court house, and 15 southwest of Indianapolis. It is free from bonded debt, has real and personal property (assessed value), amounting to $260,495, and sustains Methodist, Chris- tian and Friends churches, 1 graded school, 2 hotels, a bank, and 1 weekly newspaper-Monitor. The other prominent features are 1 flour mill, saw mill, grain elevator, tile factory, planing mill, and a stone quarry. Mooresville was settled in 1820, and derives its chief support from the very fertile farming district which sur- rounds it. Ex., Adams. Tel., W. U. Lum- ber, grain and live stock are the exports.
