GREENSBURGH. This hand- some incorporated city of 3,600 inhabitants, is pleasantly located at the crossing of the V., G. & R. and C., I., St. L. & C. R. R'ys., 47 miles southeast of Indianapolis, and 64 northwest of Cincinnati. It is the county seat of Decatur county, has a bonded debt of $24,600, real and personal property amounting to (assessed value) $1,634,260, has a good municipal government, a volun- teer fire department, is lighted by gas, and supports 8 churches, an excellent high school, 2 national banks, 2 hotels (the Seitz House is the most prominent), and 4 weekly newspapers-Standard, News, Democrat and Review. Its manufacturing interests are rep- « resented by a woolen mill, 2 flour mills, 1 foundry, a furniture factory, 2 planing mills and a carriage factory.
