KENDALLVILLE. This impor- tant manufacturing city of 3,000 inhabit- ants, is located at crossing of Air Line Div. L. S. & M. S. and G. R. & I. R. R's in Wayne township, Noble county, 10 miles north of Albion court house, 26 north of Fort Wayne, and 133 west of Toledo, O. This is probably the most important grain market of its size in northern Indiana, in addition to this extensive trade it has, in the manufacturing line, 2 handle factories, 1 planing mill, a wind mill factory, 2 saw mills, 1 tannery, 2 flour mills, 1 clothes rack factory, 2 cooper shops, 1 fishing lamp factory, a brewery, 1 grain cradle factory, 1 brick yard, an eave trough factory, and a tile yard. Kendallville carries a bond- ed debt of $2,500, has real and personal property (assessed value) amounting to

The surround- ing country is a rich and productive prai- rie section, especially adapted to the growth of hay and grain, and these form its chief exports.
