HOWARD.

I. SOLOMON HOWARD.

SOLOMON HOWARD, from Andover, Vt., came to Sullivan and bought the land on which stood the house at 222, in the north part of the town. The pur- chase was on Jan. 17, 1788. Howard lived here a short time, obtaining his water from a spring, walled like a well, at 223. He soon abandoned the place. We have not been able to find any further particulars in regard to this man. He may have been related to the Howards who lived at a later time in Gilsum and Sullivan. We do not know that he was.
