36. QUINCY BETHUEL& NASH, son of Asa Bradford7, 11, has lived in S. many years. He lived a time upon the Hastings farm at 141 ; also a short time upon'the II. Rugg farm at 145. Since 1887, he has owned and occupied the old McIntire farm at 26. He m., Feb. 10, 1872, Arvilla Christiana Hastings, b. in S., at 147, Sept. 18, 1853; twin dau. of William and Lestina (Emerson) Hastings. Mr. and Mrs. Nash have been very helpful and kind in the town, and are highly esteemed. They had no ch.
II. FAMILY OF JOHN NASH.
1. JOHN NASH, a brother of JAMES' NASH, the head of the pre- ceding family, and son of Abraham4, Sr., and Lydia (Smith) Nash, was b. in Taunton, Mass., Aug. 12, 1764, and d. in Gilsum, Oct. 31, 1836. He was a far- mer in the east part of Gilsum. He m. Ruth Bolton, b. in Bolton (?), Mass., where she d., Jan. 16, 1838; dau. of John Bolton. They had no ch., but reared Cyrus Bliss, q. v., and Betsey Stevens, who m. John Guillow of Gilsum.
III. FAMILY OF ASA NASH, SR.
1. ASA& NASH, SR., was a brother of JAMES and JOHN NASH, the heads of the two preceding families, and a son of Abraham4 and Lydia (Smith) Nash, and was b in Taunton, Mass., Dec. 16, 1767. He d. at Pratt's Hollow, N. Y., Feb. 14, 1815. According to his gravestone, he was in his 51st year, which would make the year of his birth 1764, but that was the known year of birth of his brother John. The date of his birth here given is that of an old family Bible, which is undoubtedly right. His age upon his gravestone is wrong. He came to Sullivan with his mother in 1794. In 1795, he bought the north part of her farm. He lived a few years at 212, and had a blacksmith-shop at 213. About 1800, he bought more land and built the house at 215.
