1. REV. WILLIAM WALLACE2 LOVEJOY, b. in Campton, N. H., Aug. 27, 1810 ; d. in Pottersville (now Chesham), Apr. 4, 1862; was the son of Wm.1 and Dorothy (Johnson) Lovejoy. He was the last pastor of the Baptist church, which then held its meetings for worship in the Methodist church of Gilsum, which later became a town hall, and was finally burned. Mr. Lovejoy supplied this church through 1856. For exact dates and the particulars of his education and ministry, see page 434. He lived at that time in Marlow. He was never a legal resident of Sullivan, and we shall not give his family history in minute detail. He m. Ist, Hannah T. Lovejoy, who d. in Antrim, May 6, 1855. He m. 2d, July 31, 1855, Eliza J. White of Antrim, b., July 8, 1832 ; dau. of Jonas and Margaret (Clark) White, who moved to Antrim in 1849, After Mr. Lovejoy's death, she m. 2d, in 1868, Charles I. 1. DR. ASHER3 LOVELAND, son of Israel2, II., and Dinah (Loveland sic) Loveland, was b. in Hebron, Conn., Aug. 23, 1767. He d. in Stoddard, Aug. 5, 1849. He was in S., as a physician, in 1787-88, and perhaps earlier. He moved to Stoddard in 1790. For an account of him, see page 597. It was dis- covered after that page was printed that he never lived at 222. He was perhaps somewhat in the family of his sister, Mrs. Ebenezer Burditt, at 193, but more likely a student of Dr. Peters at 232. He was unmarried while in S. He had such a brief connection with S., that we shall give only a skeleton outline of his family. 10. IDA H.7 McINTIRE, dau. of Amos B.6, 4, d. in Lowell, Mass., Jan. 9, 1900. She m., Mar. 26, 1891, Henry Joshua Williams of Lowell, b. in Farm- ington, Me., Mar. 4, 1850 ; son of Joshua and Sarah Anderson (Cutler) Williams. They res. in Lowell.
11. FRANK H.7 McINTIRE, son of Elbridge6, 5, m., June 26, 1875, Ann M. Ryan, b. in Harrisville, Mar. 4, 1858 ; adopted dau. of Charles and Arvilla (Farrar) Ryan. He m. 2d, Sept. 6, 1911, Fannie Hephzibah (Whitney) Platts, b. in Rindge, June 7, 1870; dau. of Thomas Smith and Abbie Sophia (Everett) Whitney, and widow of George L. Platts. They res. in Keene in 1911.

I. FAMILY OF BEZALEEL MACK.
1. BEZALEEL2 MACK, whose first name is spelled in all the erroneous and fantastic ways possible upon the old records, was the son of Abner1 and Phebe (Lord) Mack of Hebron, Conn., where he was b., about 1759. His father was a large land owner in Gilsum and in that part of S. which was taken from Gilsum. Bezaleel bought land of his father, owning at different periods the Gibbs farm, at 206, also the A. B. Brown place (where Mr. Wheeler lives), the house then being at 204. He lived at 204 from 1785 to 1791, and perhaps for short periods afterwards. He m. Ist, July 28, 1785, Rachel Hurd, b. at East Haddam, Conn., about 1758; d. in Gilsum, Oct. 15, 1820; dau. of Justus and Rachel (Fuller) Hurd. He m. 2d, Mar. 25, 1822, Mrs. Olive (Gibbs) Temple, b. in Marlborough, May 18, 1758; d. in Gilsum, Feb. 22, 1827; dau. of Isaac and Lois (Townsend) Gibbs, and the widow of Ebenezer Temple of Marlborough. He m. 3d, Oct. 23, 1827, Mrs. Lucy (Hill) Smith, b. in Gardner, Mass., Feb. 7, 1793; d. in S., at 161, May 7, 1869; dau. of Bezaleel and Hannah ( Baker) Hill, and the widow of David Smith, q. v. She subsequently m., for her 3d hus., Dec. 30, 1829, Laban Gates, b. in Bolton, Mass., Sept. 16, 1764; d. in Chester, Vt., Jan. 7, 1837 ; son of Cyrus and Ruth (Graves) Gates. Mr. Mack had two ch. by his first wife. Ac. to Hayward's History of Gilsum, they were both b. in Gilsum. They were : 1. Bezaleel Lord3, 2, b., Apr. 11, 1794; 2. Isaac3, b., Feb. 3, 1796; d. somewhere in the state of New York, in 1821, unm.

Lorenzo Braddock 4, b. in Gilsum, December 1818; went to New Orleans, La .; 3. Olive Temple4, b. in Gilsum, d. in infancy ; 4. Isaac Gibbs4, b. in Gilsum, d. in infancy ; 5. Isaac Newton4, b. in Gilsum ; m. Eliza Ann Wheeler; d. in California, leaving a son, Julius Oscar, who m. and had two daughters, and res. In California; 6. Lucy Pease4, b. in Gilsum, Mar. 17, 1825; d. unm., in Northfield, Vt., Jan. 8, 1852; 7. Oscar Addison4, 3, b. in Nashua, Oct. 21, 1827.
3. COL. OSCAR ADDISON4 MACK, son of Bezaleel Lord3 Mack, 2, was one of New Hampshire's most distinguished military men. He was b. in Nashua, Oct. 21, 1827, but passed his youth in Gilsum. His parents dying when he was very young, he was reared in the family of Capt. True Webster. Through the influence of Rev. James Tisdale, he received an appointment at West Point Military Academy, from which he grad. in 1850, with the rank of Brevet 2d Lieutenant. Ile rapidly advanced through all the intermediate grades, to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, and was brevetted Colonel. He dis- tinguished himself in the Civil War; was in many hard-fought battles, and was wounded at Stone River, Dec. 31, 1862. After the war, he received various honorable appointments, and was finally engaged in the inspection of national cemeteries. He was proceeding to Santa Fe, N. M., on this business, when he d. on the train, at Brunswick, Mo., Oct. 22, 1876. He m. Ist, in 1854, Fanny Atkins, a native of Oswego, N. Y. He m. 2d, October 1865, Kate, dau. of Gen. Justus Dimmick of Washington, D. C. She d. in Washington, Septem- ber 1868. He m. 3d, June 1872, Georgia, dau. of A. H. Mechlin of Washington, D. C., said to be a descendant of the Counts of Mechlin in Germany. He had three ch. : 1. Lucy Waldron5, b. in Washington, Sept. 5, 1866; d. there, Sept. 16, 1866; 2. Mary Dimmick 5, b. in Washington, Sept. 2, 1867; 3. Margaret Gentner5, b. in Washington, Mar. 29, 1873.
II. FAMILY OF ABNER MACK, JR.
1. ABNER2 MACK, JR., son of Abner1 and Phebe (Lord) Mack, was a brother of Bezaleel2, of the preceding section. He also owned the Gibbs farm (206), as well as the Brown farm (204), for short periods, between 1790 and 1800. He was not married then, and when in town boarded in different families. On Sept. 20, 1803, he m. Sibyl Chapman of S., b. in Gilsum, Jan. 27, 1768; dau. of John and Sibyl (Dimmick) Chapman. They were married by Roswell Hubbard, Esq., in S. He then called himself of Bethel, Vt. We have been unable to trace this family any further.

1. ELIASI MACKENTIRE, of whom we know nothing respecting his parentage, birth, or death, m. in Keene, by Rev. A. Hall, Dec. 31, 1786, Miriam Rice, b. in Westmoreland (now Surry), Feb. 26, 1769; d. in Gilsum, July 27, 1850; dau. of Charles and Miriam (Clark) Rice. She m. a Smith for her second husband. At the Sullivan March meeting in 1789, a committee was appointed to act for Sullivan in a suit brought by Gilsum for the support of

Miriam Mackentire and her daughter "Susannah." This was her eldest child. It is likely that her husband was a vagrant character, as he is not mentioned in this case. She had probably been living at her father's house, which was at 200. It was that same year that her father, Charles Rice, sold this Sullivan farm. According to Hayward's History of Gilsum, her ch. were four : 1. Susan2, (doubt- less the Susannah of the records, hence her first child), of whom we know no more. Susan, or Susannah, was perhaps b. in Gilsum, but possibly in S., and, it may be, out of wedlock. 2. Electa2, 2, b. in Gilsum, Mar. 29, 1789. 3. Sarah2 (or Sallie), who m., Oct. 10, 1830, Michael Murphy, a native of Ireland. She d. in Alstead. She had three ch .: Betsey3, Mary3, and James8. 4. Eli2, who d. unmarried. Miriam's children were probably all b. in Gilsum, with a possibility that the first was b. in S., at 200.
2. ELECTA2 MACKENTIRE, dau. of Elias1, 1, d. in Gilsum, Feb. 22, 1872. She m., Jan. 1, 1805, Zenas Bingham, b. in Gilsum, Jan. 23, 1780; d. there, Jan. 1, 1857; son of John and Sibyl (Wright) Bingham. He was a far- mer who lived in Gilsum, a few rods east of the highway on the summit of the Bingham Hill, on the road from Keene to Gilsum. They had eleven ch., whose records will not be elaborated in detail, as they had so slight a connection with Sullivan. The ch., all b. in Gilsum, were :
