He m., Nov. 26, 1807, Sarah (called Sally) White, b. in Uxbridge, Mass., Nov. 24, 1782 ; d. at West Sterling, Mass., at the house of her dau., Mrs. Wight, June 10, 1866 ; burial in S. On her gravestone, the year of death is erroneously given as 1865. She was dau. of Col. Solomon and Esther (Preble) White. Philander was a farmer and lived in S., at 164, the site of the later D. W. Wilson house. Here his children were all born, as one of them informed us. About 1836, he quitted all his rights in the place to the Wilsons, and afterwards lived at 246 and other places in town, and died in Roxbury. His twelve ch., all b. at 164, were : I. 16. HENRY6 NIMS, son of David5, 3d, 6, usually known as " HARRY" NIMS, was a farmer. In 1825, he and his brother, Nahum Nims, purchased the farm at 159 in S., always known as the Nahum Nims place. Both settled here. Henry continued to live here until 1835, when he sold his half of the farm to Nahum and moved to Roxbury, to the farm, known as the " Harry " Nims place, later occupied by Charles W. Buckminster, where he spent the rest of his days, and where he d., Sept. 13, 1865. He min., at Roxbury, Feb. 28, 1828, by Rev. Gad Newell of Nelson, to Anna Phillips, b. in Rutland, Mass., Feb. 19, 1806; d. in Hinsdale, Nov. 14, 1898, in her 93d year ; dau. of Leavitt and Polly (Hinds) Phillips. They had thirteen ch., the first five b. in S., at 159, the others in Roxbury :

He m., May 1, 1867, Harriet Hardy Willard, b. in Dublin (now Harrisville), Sept. 29, 1840 ; still living (1913) in Keene; dau. of Levi and Irene (Knight) Willard. After the death of Mr. Nims, she m. 2d, Jan. I, 1876, Charles Henry Nye of Harris- ville, b. in Keene, June 14, 1837; d. there, Aug. 10, 1912; son of Apollos and Adaline (Kingsbury) Nye. Mr and Mrs. Nims had one ch. : I. He m., Aug. 25, 1867, Augusta Henrietta Farwell, b. in Dublin (now Harrisville), Dec. 29, 1839; dau. of Samuel and Lucinda (Scripture) Farwell. She res. (1913) in Hinsdale. They had one ch. : I.
